Redeem| Feeling so incredibly blessed and humbled by the love poured to me by two of the most important woman in my life. Hours of tea tasting, photo taking and Instagram posting. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for those within my life who know how to ignite and reignite the fire within me. For my sparklers, my shooting stars and my lighting bolts. They know just how to draw out my best qualities, how to fuel my passions and spur on the drive in me to accomplish my dreams. I would NOT be where I am without you, I love you! #Repost @kimberlyinthecoal with @repostapp. ・・・ Lessons in Life and Cupping: 1) Tea is highly responsive to its environment (the pretty word for this is hygroscopic). Flavoured or scented teas are made by layering the tea leaves with different flowers/plants, like jasmine for example, so that the tea absorbs the flavour of the flower. After you remove the petals, the tea is written-upon. It's a collage of everywhere it's been. Tea even responds to the air its grown and stored in- absorbing moisture and light and scents from its environment, documenting its own historicity, telling its own travel narrative. You, are tea. Your environment flavours you. So know that you are being written-upon, and choose your scene on purpose. 2) A nearly empty airtight container with a tiny bit of tea in the bottom deteriorates faster than a completely full container. The more tea inside an enclosed space, the less likely the tea is to absorb the scent of its surroundings. Tea keeps better in bulk. You want a cupboard that smells like tea, not a few teas that smell like your cupboard, right? So basically, tea is better when it lives in community. Tell me that doesn't deserve an 'awww.' #fresherwithfriends #teatasting #shissotea #iactuallypeedgreenafterthis
