Finished season 8 and dare I say,
Lesbians
The stars shone so brightly
that the earth stopped to stare
yet when a poor man is dying
it doesn’t seem to care
why do we hate
when our society is built on togetherness
why do we love
when we’re always tearing ourselves apart
what is the point
of pointless conflict
why is it only pointless
when the loser had a point
if ever we were to awaken
to a sea of stars
we should be supportive of their wonder
for envy leaves ugly scars
The boss ordered us to tread across the badlands just north Motello Tower, we were tasked with asking the Wolf King for help. I knew my way through the desert, so i would lead the troop, but the negotiating would be left to Adam. The Wolf King is the leader of a cannibal gang, who pray on hunters or nomads in their territory, a lot of them are known to be diseased with “tar blood” which Adam has, and having survived months in the badlands alone, he’s more knowledgeable on the subject of feral groups.
We enter their territory head on in a group of 5 (me, Adam, the twins, and Checkers), immediately we are spotted by a sentry. He a small but stocky man with moppish hair over his eyes, we could see him bark at another guy who seemingly popped out of nowhere, a gangly kid with a chopped up mohawk going and a mess of scars and tattoos.
They march up to us in a band of ten, most likely aware we came to them with purpose. One of them sniffs his way up to me, he’s blind; both of his eyes gone completely.
“They’re from the towns!” he shouts back to the group.
I whisper to Adam that he’ll have to take over, I’ve only ever encountered badlanders once and it wasn’t without two arrows to the shoulder.
The Wolf King, decorated in veins of tar and clad in pelts and hide, stands crookedly by Mohawk, the exchange a look and the kid saunters passed his comrades to gawk at Adam.
“Whada you want meat.” He snarls more of a demand than a question.
Anytime Adam answered his questions he’d turn back to look at his leader before asking another, this was the Wolf Kings right hand man. After several short questions with equally short answers the king pushes past his men, wide shoulders hunched inward with his arms crossed; its not a strong stance, more like a large man trying to make himself seem smaller. Mowhawk introduces himself as gremlin, before introducing the Wolf King as “Shadow”.
The title of The Wolf King was apparently given to him by the Montello hunters, who greatly fear the cannibal troop that ambush nomads like wolves, but in reality, the mighty king was a very shy individual. He spoke with a bit of a stutter, and his voice was much more soft than you’d like to think. It was rather unsettling to think that such a terrifying group of feral men were led by a soft spoken introvert that hid behind a 5″5′ kid with a chipped tooth. Regardless, the entire troop were rotten with Tar Blood to the point a barely being human, if the Wolf King didnt favor us, we’d be the gentle voiced leaders next meal.
