#micaela #how does shitpic theory apply to shitgifs
for reference on shitpics read this
ok the crazy thing about bad gifs is they are often shitty right at the start especially when made by professionals in a corporate setting, which is a mystery to me. like that smurfs gif is shitty but just my onion, i almost hesitate to call it a shitgif bc a shit[pic/gif] implies that the image has been MADE shitty by proliferation & resaving and screenshotting and all that, causing both file degradation and visual junk from previous iterations (like watermarks, etc). like in this case the file has not changed a bit since some person exported as gif which makes it ofc even crazier that it’s so bad, i just don’t have a word for it
however. imo when screen recording is used en masse the way screenshotting is and/or when making gifs on phones becomes really prevalent we will start to see a whole new level of shitpic, or dare i say shitvid
