Tevinter Fashion

I am back on my drawing!

I kinda dropped off drawing for while, but recently I got back into it. I finished up an older drawing I had of my idea of Tevinter fashion. 

Luxurious and intimidating. I was inspired partially by this Dior fall 2019 couture look.

I also have been watching a lot of Kingdom lately, which is an amazing south korean historical/horror show, its set in the late 16th century. The costumes are amazing and I did draw inspiration from the historical hairstyles on the woman for this drawing.

I spent much longer than I’d like to admit free-handing this on Microsoft Paint™ it is the first submission of my new art series: “Shitty But Not Shit,” where I post shitty photos I drew. The title of this masterpiece is, “Yes, You Guessed It - I Used Paint.” I’ll probably look at it tomorrow and cringe, so maybe one day I’ll fix it but for now this is my first submission of bad fanart. Thx.

Nevarran fashion doodle

So I made a doodle of what initially started off as a Tevinter noble, but I feel like it fits better with what I imagine Nevarran fashion as.

Rigid and rich with sort of austerity to it.

Behold! My shitty contribution to Dragon age fanart, ain’t she a beaut?

So i’m trying to draw different fashions for the different nations and peoples of Thedas and i’m trying to be aesthetically consistent so each nations fashion is instantly recognizable. Originally when I started drawing this I really had Tevinter in mind (like Seheron resort wear spring/summer collection 9:43 Dragon). But, looking at it now,  i’m definitely feeling more Rivaini vibes. 

I have ordered the DA:I art book, so maybe after I take a looksy at that I can get a more concert idea of the different fashions around Thedas.

Sidenote: I was planning on taking drawing lessons at my city arts centre, then the pandemic hit and derailed that plan (along with many many others). So i’m practicing and hope that one day i’ll be able to draw human limbs and proportions convincingly. But, for now, this is what i’ve got to work with.
