Masanori "Nisi" Nishioka RIP. On my first trip to Japan in 1988, Nisi took Lester Kasai, Pierre Andre and I into his small apartment above a restaurant and made us feel at home, showed us where the skate spots were. This is a shot of Nisi grinding at a great metal ramp in a Shizunami junkyard. When Nisi wasn't skating, surfing or snowboarding, he was taking photos of someone else doing it. He was also a great artist and we would talk about art for hours. Nisi was a character and it's the characters that spice up our lives.
