SHLUG release new 'Grated Thumbs' Single | EP On The Way
Cardiff's art noise band SHLUG has announced the upcoming release of their ferocious debut EP, 'Split the Grin.' Set for independent release on May 15th, the EP promises an unbridled sonic assault that will shatter eardrums and leave a lasting mark. From their inception, SHLUG has honed a distinctive and uncompromising sound. With their "dubious and violent soundscapes," the quartet conjures up an industrial atmosphere that evokes primal instincts.
Their harsh distortions and mechanical dissonances create a sonic maelstrom that blurs the lines between noise and music. The band's latest single, "Grated Thumbs," has garnered support from BBC 6 Music's DJ Deb Grant, who gave the track its first national radio play. Visions Magazine Germany has also praised the band, featuring an exclusive stream of the single. Building on the success of their previous singles, "The Scent of Roy Keane" and "Self-Hate Portrait," SHLUG's debut EP is set to further establish the band's reputation as a formidable force in the experimental music scene.
The title track, "Split the Grin," promises to be a fitting showcase for the band's relentless and unconventional approach to sound. With their upcoming live performances in support of the EP, SHLUG promises to deliver an immersive and chaotic live experience. Their performances have a reputation for creating a mosh pit-like atmosphere, transforming venues into a vortex of unrestrained energy.
As SHLUG prepares to unleash 'Split the Grin' upon the world, fans and critics alike eagerly anticipate the band's next chapter. Their music serves as a visceral reminder of the transformative power of noise and the enduring appeal of experimental artistry.
