if ushijima were a more petty person ( at least in regards to every day dealings and interactions ) then perhaps this would have been a test of WILLS as to who would back down first. an unnecessary competition on whose stubbornness could outlast the other’s. but thankfully, for both their sakes, ushijima is not that type of person.
instead he stares IMPASSIVELY at the orange water bottle offered down to him from his place on the gym floor. a beat passes before he rises to his full height and finally accepts it with a slight bow of his head. he takes a few sips, mindful not to choke but he’s still pretty damn thirsty.
“ thank you. i’ll be sure to return the favor one day. “ he promises, perhaps too seriously and too meaningfully for shimizu’s rather simple act of kindness.
