CSS VOL 148 / Shock Corridor / Dir. Samuel Fuller, 1963
The late James Best will forever be remembered for his role as a good natured doofus in The Dukes of Hazard, but Best was a highly trained actor who loved his craft. He appeared in hundreds episodes of TV and dozens of movies. This clip, from the 1962 movie, Shock Corridor is one of his best film moments. To set it up, he’s a patient in an asylum who believes himself to be a Confederate general. A reporter (Peter Breck), has infiltrated the hospital in order to solve a murder, and believes that Best’s character may have witnessed it. (via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRzSnXGzNGU)
