Fun fact: Wanda (originally Venus) was created before Cosmo (originally Jupiter/Julius) because fairies are typically female. However, the creator wanted Timmy (originally Mike/Mikey) to have paternal figure, the idea of godfather was absurdly brilliant.
Of course, when they make their decision, there was some rough drafts, partly inspired by the Simpsons.
There's several nods this original idea within the show.
Halleys Comet won’t orbit past Earth again until 2061.
Discovered in 1705 by Edmond Halley, the famous comet was last seen in 1986 and is only seen once every 75 to 76 years.
The initial impact from Halley's Comet would generate a magnitude 10 earthquake, which is stronger than anything that has been recorded on Earth.
One small thing that bothers me to no end
You know that famous picture of Hisashi Ouchi, the man who was exposed to more than twice the deadly dose of radiation and was kept alive for way too long? The picture is a man in a hospital bed with basically no skin and suspended limbs (very gory, bewear)
That isn't him, and it's very easy to prove. The man in the picture had his right foot amputated, Ouchi didn't since the wound would have never healed and his blood couldn't clot. Plus, the hospital rooms don't match. Unfortunately I have no idea where the picture is from.
Despite this, every single sHoCkInG FaCtS site uses it.
This is absolutely disgusting! I know this photo is quite graphic but people need to know what is going on! This brings me to tears.... Spread awareness about innocent watermelons being killed for human satisfaction!
Fun fact: the two voice actors are father and daughter
"School Out: The Musical" was the second planned end of FOP. The movie mirrors Danny Phantom's "Reality Trip," with both during Summer Vacation. Do you remember Imaginary Gary (from Season 3)? Well, earlier concepts revealed a more shocking twist. Are you ready?
Flappy Bob was originally Gary in disguise (e.g., Homer Simpson and Krusty the Clown).
While seeking vengeance on Timmy Turner, Gary met the Pixies and Happy Peppy Gary and Betty. The writers gathered the whole rouge gallery, only to discard and recycle it into Season 5 ("Escape from un-wish Island," Gary's second/last appearance).
It was too ambitious. It's intriguing as Gary was essentially Timmy's inner consciousness. He's battling himself and his mistakes. More evidence later.
WARNING: weird topic
Have you ever wondered why Cosmo looks like Timmy Turner? Well, the possible answer might shock you.
According to early sources, Timmy was only supposed to have one fairy, Wanda Fairywinkle. The show was inspired by several 1950s to 1990s films and TV shows (e.g., I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie).
Of course, the obvious answer is that it's a simple character-design choice, but you probably want a more creative answer.
Drumrolls.
Timmy's original wife could have been Wanda (a nod to both shows). The original fairy couple. However, it was quickly changed in favor of the main character being a young human.
The creator still liked the idea of a godfather, so Cosmo filled that role.
Before you ask, how old was Timmy supposed to be if he was a fairy? Well, that's still unclear as they were still drafting. As far as we know, he could have also been the Peter Pan and Tinkerbell situation (another nod yes). So they still would have looked like kids. The designs were so cute that they decided all faires should have child-like proportions.
Shocking.
Several fantasy stories inspired FOP, including Disney's Aladdin, Peter Pan, and Cinderella. I Love Lucy and I Dream of Jeannie are two more examples of its comedy genre.
