Sourcing Inspiration... Spitalfields Market on a Sunny Sunday!
There are few things better than a 19 degrees of sunshine on a Sunday at the beginning of October. This is the kind of Sunday that requires one to leap out of bed, unleash the summer dresses from the vacuum-packed bags and give them one last airing before bitter, painful winter comes down to bite us.
With personal styling sessions coming up soon, I tend to fall back on Spitalfields Market for fashion inspiration. Warm autumn days present particular challenges when it comes to dressing. Finding an outfit where one can navigate both sharp sunny rays and big fat drops of rain is no easy feat. It calls for expert layering and multitasking footwear like the lovelies below
U_Kyoung (Instagram)- I loved her metallic blue cardigan combined with a stylish slit navy blue skirt (looked great in the wind) and gold accessories. Ankle boots topped off the look
Terri (@diggers28) serves an easy lesson in laid back styling. Slouchy leather jacket, grey t-shirt dress, silver brogues with a pop of blue from her Celine bag.
Long flowing skirts, flowery headpieces and sunglasses were all the rave with @loveluvband and @Livsdarling
These are different ways to do laid back cool...
Funky t-shirt, see through skirt and sneakers OR Beanie, lippy, tights, and broges
Her hair, her shoes... Kuzi stood out from the crowd at Brick Lane Market....
We can borrow a leaf from all the 'elements' of these stylish guys 'looks'...
No trip to Spitalfields is complete without a spot of window shopping. To the stall holders below I say- take my money, take all of it. Money!'
Shoe Embassy
If I won the lottery, I would buy the entire shop and I would build a special shed for my Shoe Embassy collection.
YOU ME WE
Their ponchos with african print fabric/tweed were drawing in the crowds...
Grace and Butler
Their 'summer meadow' candle is stunning.
What a delightful Sunday afternoon. A trip to Spitalfields/Brick Lane is most certainly going to become a monthly affair for me.
