When someone experiences a traumatic event, they often try to block it out and not think about it and not feel it. They end up not feeling anything. Men, in particular are told not to feel or show most emotions. It's unhealthy in the long run. Emotions are meant to be felt. One must feel their emotions, look at their past, process their trauma.
