gruvia reunion headcanon

the war is over.

the pain and suffering has ended.

Fairy Tail has finally won.

every one on their side is cheering and crying tears of joy because at last, all is well.

it’s a mess of a scene as Gray walks through the aftermath of the war.

his friends and guild mates scatter about as they hold onto one another, crying about how happy they are that the war has ended.

gray is happy too. he’s just a little impatient. where could she be?

he continues his trek down Magnolia, looking out for that familiar shade of blue when he spots her.

she’s a couple blocks away, talking animatedly with a few of their friends. 

and he knows he’s badly wounded, and she is too, and that she’s in the middle of a conversation but he can’t help it when his feet start to pick up the pace. and before he knows it, she’s staring wide-eyed at him as he’s sprinting towards her.

he probably looks like a fool, he knows, but frankly, he doesn’t give a damn because the war is over. she’s alive and breathing. and he has an answer he needs to give to her. 

he’d be damned if he let another moment pass by without the woman he swore he almost lost in his arms.

juvia stutters out his name, about to burst into tears at the sight of him because oh, how she’s missed him so much. but she can’t speak.

because the second he’s in reach, the ice mage who has tossed all hesitation in the wind, and only cared about the woman before him, gave her his answer by enveloping her in his arms, and planting a deep kiss on her lips.

he hears his nakama around them cheering loudly, and a few inappropriate hoots and hollers that he finds quite embarrassing.

but he didn’t give a damn, because finally, at last, Gray Fullbuster could start his future with the one he loves.
