Now that relations had improved between himself and his former teammates, it wasn't uncommon whatsoever that Akashi and Kuroko would regularly schedule friendly streetball matches between himself and the rest of the Generation of Miracles that resided in Tokyo, as well as Kagami. It was a little difficult to get Murasakibara to join them when he was located all the way in Akita, but sometimes Akashi was able to sweet talk him into it (literally--with sweets exclusively from Kyoto).
Midorima was another one who was difficult to get to join up, particularly since he still struggled with being openly friendly with his former Teiko teammates. Sometimes it took enlisting the help of Takao to have him come out of his shell, but Akashi knew that his own presence tended to help ease Midorima into things, particularly now that he was returned to his former self. Being in town at the moment for the match later, Akashi knew exactly where to find Midorima early in the morning on a Sunday--searching for his lucky item, of course.
Leather sneakers were his item of the day, Akashi had learned, and there was one shoe store in particular that Midorima had frequented during middle school, which was likely where he was at. As predicted, Akashi's eyes landed on that familiar green hair as he stepped inside, greeted cheerfully by a sales associate. "Is this what you're looking for?" Akashi asked as he approached Midorima looking carefully through shelves, holding a pair of leather sneakers up to him that were exactly Midorima’s shoe size. Whether he chose to wear them or not didn't really matter, though.
"It's good to see you again, Midorima. I do hope you were intending on joining myself and Kuroko tonight at the usual streetball court." Akashi glanced around a little. “Takao-kun isn’t with you today?”
