Shop Columbia is reopening!

As we approach the spring semester, ShopColumbia is gearing up for our grand reopening in the Averill and Bernard Leviton Gallery space at 619 S Wabash Ave.

This season we are pleased to announce we are now accepting submissions from Columbia College Chicago faculty and staff (and of course students) to present and sell their work. 

We are always accepting submissions for ongoing consignment and rotating exhibitions at https://shopcolumbia.submittable.com/submit Be on the look out for more exciting updates in the next coming months. We appreciate your support of the shop and look forward to new opportunities within the Columbia College community that this reopening will bring.

New Shop Artist: Idrine Bishweka

Idrine Bishweka Nabishusha

Prepare for the prints and cuts your wardrobe has been longing for. Recent graduate of Columbia College Chicago Idrine Bishweka Nabishusha, aims to merge Western and African culture to create a fusion of modern and traditional clothing. Bishweka has presented clothing at various fashion shows such as: Africa fashion Week Chicago, Broadway to Runway, the word Enigma Present Power ( international student power exhibition), and Global Harmony ( across-culture student performance art showcase).

ShopColumbia currently holds four of Bishweka’s pieces including a sultry floor length red dress and a show stopping printed jacket.

Bishweka will soon be launching her own clothing line titled IBINA, where she looks to reinvent modern fashion  while celebrating the beauty of women.

Gucci, of course, did not disappoint with the 2017 resort collection. At a time when minimalism and solid colors dominate the sidewalk it was quite refreshing to see prints, colors, and textures piled on while maintaining the structured and refined shapes we all love.
