The Best Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

Summer is upon us and buying a new pair of sunglasses can update your look without spending a fortune on a new wardrobe. It is important to buy the right pair for your face shape. Here are some rules to follow when looking for a new pair of shades. 

  Heart Shaped Face:

If your forehead is wide and your jaw is narrow, then you have a heart shaped face. Look for glasses in the Wayfarer style as they draw attention to the thinnest part of your face. Black is always classic, but to pump up the summer fun, red or a hot neon color is a great choice.

  Oval Face:

If your cheekbones, forehead and chin are all well balanced, then you have an oval shaped face. Good news, almost any style of sunglasses will look good on you. Just be sure not to go too big or too small. Cat eye sunglasses can also be a fun way to add some style for this face shape.

  Round Faces: 

If your cheeks are wider than your forehead and chin then you have a round shaped face. If you are looking to make your face look thinner, then avoiding round shaped glasses is a good idea. Instead opt for aviators, which have a straight bridge and oval bottoms. They will lengthen your face and look super sleek. 

  Oblong Face:

If your face is rectangular, and almost seems longer than it is wide, then you have an oblong shaped face. Avoid round shaped glasses like above with the round face, but also avoid narrow style glasses because they will make your face look longer. Over sized glasses will give the illusion of a rounder face. 

  Square Face:

If your forehead, cheekbones, and chin are wide combined with a strong jawline, then you have a square face. The best choice for sunglasses would have oval lenses free from sharp lines or edges to soften the edges of your face. "Jackie O" round style sunglasses would also be a perfect choice for a square shaped face.
