How Pretty Penny Sells on Square and Instagram

Tell us about Pretty Penny!
Pretty Penny is a vintage clothing boutique that caters to people of all ages and styles! We do buy, sell, trade and have two locations. We have one store in Oakland and one in SF. Pretty Penny has been in business for a little over 8 years!
How did it get started?
Sarah Dunbar started this business because she has always has a strong passion for vintage clothing. She has always admired how garments were made to last and loved the process of going on hunts to find true gems.
How are you using Shopseen?
Pretty Penny uses Shopseen for our Instagram sales and to control our Square items. Basically, as soon as a garment is ready to sell, we post it to Instagram and anyone can buy it. Shopseen also automatically adds it to the Square Register app for in-store sales. Because it's so user-friendly it helps keeping track of all purchases and items a breeze!
What were you doing before Shopseen?
Before Shopseen we would use PayPal or take purchases over the phone from our Instagram. We also had an online store that didn't get much traffic. Our online sales and Square sales were totally separate. Since the Instagram purchases weren't instant, we would lose a lot of sales because customers would change their minds. Plus, we would sometimes oversell because our inventory was not in sync. Now there are no more mishaps with people buying items that have already been sold in store. Phew!
How has your business changed?
- We replaced our online store with our Instagram/Shopseen store
- The same garments automatically go into our Square
- We lose less sells to overselling or customers changing their minds
