“Fooled the Jeweller,” Daily British Whig (Kingston). July 12, 1911. Page 02. ---- A young lad evidently from the country, who came to town to see the Wild West show walked in a jewellery store Tuesday afternoon and asked the storekeeper if he had any dollar watches in stock. The man behind the counter replied that he had, and the young fellow said he would take one. The watch was handed over to him and the boy deposited a handful of change on the counter and walked out with his purchase. When the change was counted there was only eight-five cents.
