The small bookstore was quite cramped, so when somebody nudged him from behind he was almost expecting it to happen. Still, a little displeased frown ticked down his brow when he glanced backward. No wonder -- the girl behind him seemed to be struggling at reaching something on a high shelf.

“Mm? Oh, I believe you,” he replied, tone implying the opposite. Now that she had mentioned it, he was watching -- although he didn't move to assist her at all. He was quite entertained at watching her stubbornly struggle without help. Was it the comic book up there that she wanted?

“A little to the left and you might make it.” He doesn't mention the little wooden step stool that he saw around the corner earlier. Maybe later.
