I’ve been playing with the shortcut app on my phone because I wanted matching app icons. Shortcuts has been updated that you can do this where it just opens the wanted app and not shortcuts then the app.
I wanted to share it because I don’t want to watch a 12 minute video for like 10 seconds of work and those 10 seconds are at the 11 minute mark.
Step 1: Open shortcuts on your device.
Step 2: Click the little + button in the upper right corner. It’s right next to edit.
Step 3: Click Open App, it’s on the menu near the bottom of the screen.
Step 4: Click App right next to Open.
Step 5: Pick the app you want to open. I chose Bluesky for the tutorial.
Step 6: At the top there is an icon Open App, click the little down facing arrow next to it.
Step 7: You can change the name from Open App to whatever you want. I like to name it the same as the app it opens.
Step 8: From the same menu as Step 7, got to Add to Homescreen.
Step 9: Chose image, then choose file. Then click the blue add button in the upper right.
Also if you decide you want to use a different image for the app, just follow step 8 and 9.
