the idea that on april 1st will and mack post some weird couply photo or tiktok or something. like it’s undeniably gay. and the internet goes Crazy because this is the proof this is finally the hardlaunch everyone’s been praying for, like it’s finally happened.

but then someone points out it’s april 1st, which is april fools day. so then the internet start freaking out, analysing if it’s will and mack hardlaunching or if it’s them pranking the fans. because them pranking a bunch of fans with some really coupley tiktok or insatgram caption to then turn around the next day like “hah! april fools! we’re just best friends, like brothers, ewww i’d never date him!” really isn’t that unbelievable. especially considering since the sharks or the nhl or literally anyone else hasn’t posted anything, but the comments are filled with congrats from teammates and friends.

but the idea of them hardlaunching on april fools day to try and throw people off the scent is even funnier and an even more will and mack thing to do.

so everyone kinda unanimously agrees that it’s all a prank, but then april 2 comes around and the sharks post a “our favourite couple: 10 photos we couldn’t show you before now” and it’s will and mack in intense hug cellys and cuddling asleep on planes and things that are undoubtedly coupley. and then the nhl post a link to an article about will and mack being the first openly queer nhl players.

and a lot of the shippers take this as confirmation, but some of the anti-rpf’ers are still trying not to speculate, but then will and mack are quoted in the nhl article about how proud they are to be the fist out nhl players and how they’re ready to change the nhl’s culture for the better.

and so that’s truly when the internet explodes, and cat posts some photo of will and mack and stella on stella’s instagram page basically bullying the internet for not believing them, and someone takes the opportunity to start an instagram trend of teammates and friends and family posting photos that they never could before now showing a true insight into their relationship and just how deep their love is for one another. and then fans who have spotted them in public who have taken photos of moments they probably shouldn’t have seen finally can post their photos too

and on the next episode of never offside cat laughs with julie about how the shippers were right and that the general public sometimes need to use context clues because willmack have stopped being subtle for like. Months now and even tried hardlaunching with the instagram reel and most people didn’t catch on so this is where they ended up

If I had a nickel for every time two YouTubers that I watch came out after years of relationship speculation and confirmed that they’ve been together for years, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
