Directed, written, and alot of other stuff by Steven Liang and myself! If you’re in Seattle check it out. It looks like they created a really sweet line up of films in the program (#Goodtimes, Shorts Program).

Film: HYPOCRITES + shorts (various, 1913-14, USA)
Forum: Gene Siskel Film Center Format: DCP
Observations: As part of “Pioneers: First Women Filmmakers,” the Film Center offered two programs (roughly 2-1/2 hours) of shorts and one four-reel feature (Lois Weber’s 1915 HYPOCRITES). As is often the case with these programs, the range in quality runs the gamut from stylishly interesting and ambitious (Lois Weber’s one-reel “Suspense,” a Griffith-like last-minute-rescue movie) to entertaining (Mabel Normand’s 1914 “Caught in a Cabaret,” capturing the early Charles Chaplin “Tramp” character for Keystone) to tedium. Maybe 35 people for this one.
Color is not my strongest point but I’m trying to make it one.
This one is a throwback to an old Aquanauts drawings I had made last year. Actually, part of the reason I’ve been so inactive (besides freelancing and traveling) is because I had been working on a pitch with Nickelodeon through their Shorts Program and this illustration is an example of how I’ve been trying to develop it myself. I can’t say if they’ll pick my short but I’m pretty happy to have had an opportunity to pitch in the first place and hear their feedback. Either way, there’s some big projects in the works and maybe you’ll hear more about these guys later...secrets ;)
