Ok, so above is one of my first animation attempts for my animated book trailer. I like the style, I like the color, and I think the overall gesture mostly works.
BUT it drives me nuts how her facial features sort of wander and her head keeps sort of gooping into other shapes.
Also, while I like that style I'm not married to it.
So I've started trying out the 3d head customization and modeling tools in CSP v 2.0. We've established that their 3D body modeling with their automated pose tool is not a hit with me despite hilarious results.
This was my initial test for seeing how I liked working with it.
It's way way faster and I like how she stays more on model. Also it's easier to focus on the acting side of things when I don't have to worry that an ear is just going to fuck off into the ether when I'm not paying attention.
Hairlines are still hard though. Don't be surprised if everyone has bangs by book 3.
