They’d heard about the Saviors...

...her merry band of misfits didn’t stick to any of the communities but they’d taken to helping out here and there. They had a decent reputation, but they also didn’t deal with nonsense. They stuck to themselves, Kali was still trying to find Jane, she wouldn’t settle until she did. Jane was her sister, despite their differences. She wanted her to be okay. 

“Here it comes!” Dottie called from her perch in the tree, as she peered through her binoculars. Kali could hear it approaching and as she did she projected Spiders, millions of black spiders of varying sizes erupting from every crack and crevasse of the truck. Blood trickled down her nose, this was a hard one, she had to see the inside of a truck like theirs so she could accurately project it. Still it was hard to keep up as the truck was moving but she did well, but the blood flowed freely from her nose, “Boom...” she whispered.  “What did you do?” Axel frowned.  “Just...wait...” Kali told him, Axel wasn’t a fan of spiders himself, so she didn’t want to tell him.

     Staring straight ahead, Thomas was bored out of his mind. They hadn’t been married a week when the letter came. A death in her family meant he had to be supportive when he had no clue how to do any such thing. 

     Arms wrapped tightly against his chest, one leg shakes anxiously as the elderly lawyer struggles to read the living will. “This old man is gonna be dead by the time he finishes,” Jarvis whispers to Heather. “Can’t you just ask him to skip to your part?”

        layla is not usually this quiet; normally, the words come tumbling out of her mouth before she’s ready for them to, a steady stream of consciousness, even when she’d like to stem the tide and shove them right back where they came from. ( she talks when she’s anxious, and she’s anxious all the time. she talks because silence terrifies her, and isolation scares her even more than that. and yet... )  ❝ you...have powers? superpowers? i-is that what you’re implying? ❞

         ❝ sarn’t! ❞ the last time she saw him was---god, georgie doesn’t even remember. on tour somewhere, probably --- which means that, given most recent experiences, georgie would have been weighed down beneath what had happened to her, she’d have been torn open, barely able to keep her guts from spilling onto the sand. it’s been years since she had a tour that didn’t do that to her, after all. but now, here, back home and training new medics instead, she’s happier. life is more stable, she’s not living in constant fear, she’s even getting help, for once. it’s enough that she can smile, and mean it, as she jogs to catch up with him.

        ❝ i’m fine. i’m fine. ❞ it’s pretty clear to see that whatever micah is, right now, it’s not fine. they’re sat on the floor with their head in their hands, massaging their temples as though that’s going to stop all that they’re feeling. ( it’s a bad call, and distraught family. it’s coming off shift, and passing exhausted, weary, sometimes scared colleagues. it’s a sea of other people’s emotions, while micah’s own are being pushed further and further away, until they can’t  even remember what they were. it’s a lot of things. and it’s not fine. )  ❝ could you worry a little quieter? ❞

        ❝ do you miss home? ❞ she leans over the railing on the officers’ deck --- quieter than second class, and having a brother on the crew is no bad thing --- and stares out at the ocean. it seems endless, and it makes bella feel small. sailing doesn’t bother her, her stomach doesn’t churn unless the waters are choppy, but she still thinks she prefers having a solid place that is hers, and not this emptiness.  ❝ you never seem to stick around, is all. do i have to keep saving for tickets to see you? ❞

1. On formatting.

I’m all for people having their own style... as long as it’s legible. I’ve adjusted to a lot of formatting trends over the years (once upon a time I hated normal small text, if you can believe it), but one I simply cannot get on board with is when people put huge amounts of space between every word in their post. Especially when it’s coupled with things like super tiny text, multiple fonts and sizes, randomly emphasized words using all caps/bold/italics, etc... I literally cannot read that. It gives me a headache. I don’t see the point in spacing out your words so much that your one sentence that would’ve taken up two lines is now taking up a paragraph’s worth of space, unless you’re trying to make it look like you’ve written more than you actually did.

Anyway, I no longer follow or interact with people that go overboard with that. Otherwise as long as I can read what you’re writing, we’re good. I’m not picky about people matching my formatting style or people that don’t format at all or anything like that.
