☾ ─── ⋆ it was cold. way too cold to be outside. the snow was already sticking to her hair. arms were wrapped tightly around her chest. feet shuffled along the ground - kicking snow into the air. she was holding onto each coffee cup for dear life. the warmth was the only thing keeping her fingers from freezing. before she came to stand next to gavin , who was leaning against the railing. ❛ why are we even up here ? ❜ she questioned. handing him his cup , ellie quickly made sure to grab onto hers with both hands - feeling a tad bit warmer. ❛ because it's fucking cold , reed. ❜ for its flaws , detroit was pretty at night , ellie certainly didn't mind staying here every once in a while. they stood in silence for a couple of seconds - the cold seeping into her bones. before she had the brilliant idea to just do something reckless. all in the name of getting warm. turning suddenly to face the detective , ellie reaches up , grabbing hold of his jacket and pulling him down to her height - mindful of the coffee she just gave him - and kissed him. her body instantly flushed and she did feel a lot warmer.
