Just a thought

Do you ever think about all the medieval games that were never recorded and were lost in history? Like, all the games that brought people together but nobody ever thought to write down, so people gradually forgot how to play them. Imagine is someone forgot to write down D&D, or everything containing vital information about it was lost, you tried to teach your kids but they’re playing whatever hip new game with their friends and they don’t care. So all the fun times you and your buddies had playing with your characters die with you. And then there’s nobody left to play the game when the last person departs. It could happen with ideas too, people share the same way of thinking but something happens and nobody else listens, or the idea is just outright oppressed and nobody really stuck up for it. Quickly, people forgot about it and then it was just gone. It could have been someone’s life dream, and they were working to make it reality, but it just didn’t work out, and now they’re idea is just hopeless in they’re mind. But think about if someone in Ancient Greece/Rome (think around that era) and some random dude was like “wouldn’t it be cool if like, we were the gods?” and then he pitched the idea and all his friends were like “bruh isn’t that like disrespectful, idk Jupiter/Zeus might actually get offended or something, Juno/Hera seems like she’d be hella pissed if we impersonated her.” and then he had no friends, or was just outright struck by lightning.
