~Kang Gary's cameo on Emergency Couple with Song Ji Hyo~

So the back story for this is that Gary and Ji Hyo (the woman in the video) are cast mates on Running Man, and the running joke from the early days is that Gary had a crush on her and was attracted to her. So whenever there were couple missions, they'd somehow always get paired together. Eventually when they were referred to as a pair, they were simply called "monday couple" (running man is n every monday and they became paired so often). To this day, "Monday Couple" is still a big hit and still creates rumors of "are they, aren't they?" (they aren't). 

Anywho, this scene is hilarious for multiple reasons. First, she's singing Kang Gary's (LeeSSang) new song "shower later" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgfuaDS-S2c

There's an awesome play on words for his name. When she says "you're Gary" he goes "Gary? No! I'm Dea-ri (or Terry)" which in Korean means "driver" but could also just be a romanized name. 

and Thirdly, all the Running Man references. The translation is a little wonky, but the way I've translated what he says about Monday is "I have a feeling I'll be seeing you on monday" alluding to their Monday Couple status. She also repeatedly says he's her "type/style" which also references the countless times Running Man cast mates and guests have commented on how they complement each other and how compatible they are, and that she's said she would normally be attracted to someone who likes like/dresses like Gary. 

And then just the general silliness of his cameo and the chemistry these two people have after years of close friendship was just wonderful and hysterical in general.

Gary admitted that this album is nowhere near the depth of LeeSsang albums but it is also nowhere near the fulfilment of who he is as a solo artist. He has a long way to go and no one is sure if he will ever get there. One thing is for sure, though. This is the most faithful he has been in the last 5 years to his roots as a hiphop artist in years.  And for this first solo album, that’s saying a lot.
