It’s Monday and it is absolutely beautiful here in central Arkansas today. It’s another to stop and be grateful for what you have, to show some kindness and grace!!
A week in my life …. Impromptu coffee dates with my kids, hair day, that damn River, core memories with my mom and Lily. Buy your own flowers, fill your own cup and be at peace with what is ….
Seven weeks ago my dad got sick and life took a backseat to Dr appointments and parental needs. I smiled though Easter and did all the things, but I’ve just been sad. But today, I feel like I found myself again. I got back in the kitchen and tried a new cookie recipe just for my pleasure. And my flowers are beautiful!! Don’t forget to show yourself and world a little grace!!
August in a nut shell …. A lot of work with some sparks of joy mixed in. I’m leaving August feeling blessed and hopeful for better days!
Day one of vacation and I’ve already had a coffee date, great music, a good cry on the treadmill and great conversations with my neighbors. I was reminded today that every day is truly a gift, let go of the hurt, continue to pray for people and love where you are in life!!
I really need to be better at taking pictures. But yesterday morning I got up early and had breakfast with Lily and her friends. There was a lot of talk about next semester schedules, which parties to go to for St Patty’s Day, upcoming spring break camping and life in general. Eighty dollars, multiple trips through the buffet, one spilled water and endless laughs later my heart is full!!! As I walked to my car and looked back they were walking off to enjoy the day. My heart is so full …..
I took Mr. Cranky Pants (my dad) to the oncology urology team today. They don’t think it’s prostate related and they don’t think it’s cancer. The best guess at this point is possible scar tissue from his previous surgery but we are doing a ct scan and cystoscopy next month. His blood work looked much better today, so no real answer but we are slowly ruling things out. We also saw baby Jesus …
This week saw me be a repeat outfit offender, hot tea, a great brunch date, the start of Thanksgiving prep and wrapping gifts. I’ve had a pretty heavy heart, life sometimes just doesn’t seem “right”. But keep the faith, continue to show grace!!
