A week in my life …. Impromptu coffee dates with my kids, hair day, that damn River, core memories with my mom and Lily. Buy your own flowers, fill your own cup and be at peace with what is ….
It’s a big day for my little!! My niece, Lily, will be presenting her senior project to the Honors College and the Deans of each department. She will give a 20 minute presentation followed by a question and answer session. She asked me to come so off I go!! I’m actually excited to hear all the talks.
What started as a slow Saturday morning with my coffee ramped up when I took an impromptu trip to Jenkins Ferry state park with Lily and her friends. I’m blessed they let tag along!!
Today we celebrated Mother’s Day and my dad’s birthday (on the 14th). My parents wanted to take all of us out for Chinese, because nothing says Happy Mother’s Day like a Chinese buffet 😂 But today was a good day for both of my parents so I’ll call it a win!!
This weekend …. My gosh it’s been so good. Brandon, Lily and I went to our first farmers market of the season, followed by iced coffee and breakfast; a run through Trader Joe’s and the book store. There were fresh flowers, laughs and my first homemade pound cake of the season. Today I cooked hamburger steaks with gravy, pinto beans and cornbread for my parents!! Life has been heavy for the past 3 months; but there is still so much beauty and goodness. Show the world some grace …
Friday Heather is once again very disappointed in Thursday Heather for making plans. So let’s see where the day takes us. And here’s hoping the new pizza place is delicious!!
I really need to be better at taking pictures. But yesterday morning I got up early and had breakfast with Lily and her friends. There was a lot of talk about next semester schedules, which parties to go to for St Patty’s Day, upcoming spring break camping and life in general. Eighty dollars, multiple trips through the buffet, one spilled water and endless laughs later my heart is full!!! As I walked to my car and looked back they were walking off to enjoy the day. My heart is so full …..
This week …. I’m fairly certain my love language is acts of service. I love to do for people. Lily took a short trip to New Orleans and asked if I would do her laundry for her. We are celebrating my parents 61st anniversary tomorrow so it’s sweet potato pies for them. And you already know I had to start at my favorite local coffee shop!!
