So, what is this?
This is a Psych Secret Santa! If you don’t know what Secret Santa is, here’s the gist: you’re randomly assigned another fan on whom you must bestow a gift - anonymously! It’s really simple, throughout the month of December, you’ll go to this person’s inbox and message them anonymously with questions about their preferences in Psych or gifts in general, send them nice messages, basically fill them with holiday cheer! Then, the week of December 20-25, you’ll post your gift for them on your blog publicly so they’ll know who their Secret Santa was! Just make sure to tag both them and #Psych Secret Santa in your post!
Oh, so it’s only a Christmas thing?
Nope! The title is misleading because of Santa but this is for Psych fans of all kinds. I know that Hanukkah is earlier this year and that it’ll be over before the posting even begins and Kwanzaa doesn’t start until the 26th but we will take holiday preferences into account! (Additionally, if you don’t celebrate Christmas and your secret santa is able to post earlier/later when your holiday occurs, they are more than welcome to do that!)
This isn’t an original idea. Why are you doing this?
It’s not! I see this idea a lot (I was particularly inspired by the Gilmore Girls Secret Santa) but I also felt the Psych fandom deserved something a little special! I know I’m having a tough time letting go of the show and once upon a time was very involved in the fandom. I met a lot of my friends through Psych and this is a chance to bring back a little bit of the magic that brought us all together in the first place!
How do I sign up?
It’s super simple! Just fill out the sign up form here and submit it to us. Within in a day or two, you should receive a message confirming your application. If you don’t receive correspondence within 2-3 days, feel free to send us a message to check. Also, in case of odd numbers or people needing to drop out, please denote in your submission if you’d be able to give two gifts. Sign ups will end November 30th. We’ll spend the first few days of December getting everyone matched up and sending out URLs. The week of December 20-25, the posting should start and we’ll reblog every post that gets tagged to this blog!
What kind of gifts are okay?
All kinds! Fanart, fanfic, gifs, graphics, fanvids - whatever you’re good at! The application form asks for preferences in gifts and gift giving ability. This will help us match gift givers with gift receivers with better efficiency!
