Okay, so I'm rewatching the ROTTMNT movie again, because it's good and I can. Anyways, I just saw the part where Prime is like "Outmatched and alone, yet you persist. For what? Honor, redemption? Sacrifice?" And I was thinking about it and was like "oh wait... That's actually probably why he did what he does-" like, yes I know many people have (probably) already made this connection and talked about it but it just got me thinking.
We see this happen multiple times throughout the movie, Leo isn't necessarily sacrificing himself at the time but throughout the movie we see him come up with a plan and stick to it, then regret it a couple minutes later. (I saw a post about this recently with ss and everything, Imma have to try and find it again after this is posted.) In the fight before he locks himself in the prison dimension with Prime, before he tells Casey to close the portal behind him once he's through we see two distinct looks on his face.
The one where he looks down at his comm.
He thinks about it, and realizes what he has to do, before he goes with the plan and stops the Krang from ending the world and stuff-
