Life Update
So I've been kind of quiet here, because kind of a lot has been happening.
As you may remember, our beloved cat Mochi passed away suddenly of a kidney infection in early March, which was devastating.
Grief is love with no place to go, so I decided to do something I've wanted to do since I was like 10:
Start a fish tank.
It's taken about a month to cycle the tank (build up the necessary colonies of nitrifying bacteria that process fish waste and keep the water safe), but I've been getting stable readings for over a week now so it's time to introduce some friends:
For those of you squinting, that's approximately 24 shrimp in 4 colors that I'm drip acclimating as I make this post.
Speaking of new friends, the reason I couldn't do a live reading of Bread Jesus this year was because on Easter Sunday I was driving to Amarillo Texas to collect my beautiful daughter Baby Princess Trip Hazard aka Selene:
Selene's eye is a little bit wonky because she had to have eye surgery as a baby but she's all better now. She's approaching her first birthday, is good at sleeping on people without smothering them, loves playing Rodent Violence Simulator, and finding new crevices to hide in. She might be part Siamese due to the color pointing, blue eyes and the fact she beeps instead of meowing, but who knows.
The dogs are VERY excited and want to play with her, she's still a bit sus of them because Charlie is very tall and Herschel is very loud, but her confidence has been improving daily.
