there’s a gentle tap against the man’s shoulder by her index finger as the herpetologist approaches from behind. she has a confused expression etched upon her face, large eyes staring up expectantly while she waited for him to turn around. it was hit or miss who she chose to ask for help with directions and quite frankly, she wasn’t having the best luck so far. two people had pushed her aside without answering the question, so one could only hope that third time was the charm. ‘ excuse me, i’m sorry to bother you but i’m having trouble finding a — ‘ cat cafe. ‘ — restaurant and my phone’s dead. do you think you might be able to help ? i have the street name. ‘

TO SAY HE WAS SCARY WAS--- AN UNDERSTATEMENT.       he holds himself as her old master once had.            she recognizes power .... senses it.           antenne perk up in attention as he comes to a pause, and she just watches, or rather .... stares.          ( still not understanding the intricacies of social interactions )          she blinks, bug eyes wide and dark.      “ am i welcome to sit here? ”          mantis speaks up because shes been caught, because he’s looking at her now, and she cowers without the support of her friends.          she wishes they were here.        she wishes she was braver   :     like gamora.      * @shrcpnel

         it’d be a  LIE  if she called herself the  BEST  mutant running around the city,  because lorna dane is  CERTAIN  that she’s not.  but she is  powerful  -  that much she’ll admit herself.  so much to the point that if she  STARTS,  sometimes she can’t stop.  so when lorna helps,  when  POLARIS  comes out ?  things tend to go out of control  -  her  POWERS  can sometimes slip through her fingers.  when she tries to stop bullets,  they’ll stop  -  but poles will be pulled from the ground,  and one can perhaps feel the magnetic pull of the metal under their ground.    “  GET  OUT  OF HERE  - !  ”    she’ll yell,  her powers acting as a  SHIELD  against the fall of metal pieces to the ground   (   ...  where did they come from ?  ).  but lorna can’t let people get hurt  -  MUTANT OR NOT,  there wasn’t an enemy nearby.  but a lot was falling,  and a lot was  RISING  -  and lorna can feel her powers  pushing;  she was losing control,  and  FAST.  green eyes will find a more middle aged man in the distance,  and she’ll shake her head,  panic induced  SWEAT  falling from her temples.    “  you can’t help,  so scram !  ”      @shrcpnel.
