What new things have you observed of tumblr vs reddit that you have not yet shared?

Tumblr users (at least, from what I've observed) are a lot more passionate and genuine than Redditors. They deeply care about the shows/music/movies/characters they love. This feels less like a social media platform and more like a tight-knit rural town where everybody knows everybody.

Redditors tend to show less genuine emotion towards their hobbies (could be boiled down my opinion on r/gaming, awful place), and often show more irony and more "le epik maymayz" of what they enjoy. You can't really post anything on Reddit without someone in the comments making fun of you for liking the thing you posted or act like it’s not as good as you think. If Tumblr is a rural town, Reddit is a big city full of cynical bastards.

This becomes apparent through circlejerk subreddits, which are meant to parody how people on certain subreddits act (everyone on r/beatlescirclejerk points out how john lennon beat his wife, everyone on r/radioheadcirclejerk thinks pablo honey is the best album ever made, etc.)

Overall, Tumblr folks are very genuine and kind, but Redditors are very distant and, through their sheer obsession with ironic humour, have the capacity to make shit like this

I think the reason some people insist eruris hate Hanje is because there are some VERY LOUD folks who insist that Levi suggested Hange lead the suicide charge because he hates them and that it had nothing to do with making difficult choices in battle. Also that Erwin led the charge to spare Levi’s life and for no other reason whatsoever. Lol. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to just say Levi has interesting relationships to multiple people, ship whatever who cares. I ship him with Shrek.

Ahh, it's always the 1%. But why do people take that 1% and apply it to the other 99%?

I suspect the 1% of every ship community believe that if they scream loud enough they'll make it seem like their nonsense is a global truth. And I wonder sometimes if it actually works. We've seen in politics for instance how when you repeat a lie often, many will choose to believe it, especially if they never step outside of their idealogical bubble.

I know it goes both ways. If I believed the 1% of the levi//han fandom I'd be convinced that Levi was bamboozled by Erwin and later disliked and mistrusted him resulting in everyone except Erwin being part of Levi's Vow, but that Hange was actual focus of it. I know the majority of that community does not agree with those statements, or at least not to that extreme, but the idea persists.

You know, I think Levi and Shrek would be fun. They moved to the swamp because they are grumpy trolls who wanted privacy. I can imagine them as neighbors who go positively ballistic each time one trespasses onto the other's property. We'd have the whole odd couple thing going on. Levi's swamp would be scrupulously neat and his house immaculate. Shrek's would be an eyesore. The problems begin when Levi starts cutting weeds on Shrek's property that have migrated into his swamp. Shenanigans ensue.

I'm not going to reply to the other anon you sent except to say that I'm happy I haven't run into people who try to gate keep what can and can't be shipped regarding Levi, but also to tell you that since I had to read these words, so does everyone else:
