That wraps up the fakemon from Pokémon Marble/Quartz that replace the Kanto starters! These were a tough bunch to redesign, but I’m a fan of the middle stage.

Shroad, a lonely Shroob-Toad hybrid wanting nothing more but acceptance as well as knowledge.

He’s the result of a clumsy Shroob accidentely spilling Vim on a Shroob egg, as it triggered severe mutations on his body. His egg hatched in front of a childless Toad couple, who decided to adopt him with Toadsworth’s aprobation. Growing up, he was very, very lonely, because his appearance kept scaring people away. He studies the remains of the Shroob species in some hope to turn their dreadful technology into weapons of choice for the Mushroom Kingdom.

Shroad is very introverted, and fears people’s judgement a lot, so he tries to stay away from others. Because of this, he’s socially awkward and has little to no self confidence. Shroad’s also a smart guy who can recreate inventions, accurately translate texts, with the right knowledge. He sometimes unknowingly harm his own body, such as pulling all nighters out of passion for a subject, and taking a freezing shower(Shroobs being weak to cold) to stay awake for the day.

He fell in love with Toadette, as she was the only person in his life save for his parents to be nice and friendly to him.
