Yes you can :D! You’re actually the first one that requests g/t!
—————————————————————————————————————-
Roman’s jokes were always the worst. Logan was always careful around him on April fools day, sometimes even avoiding him entirely, since he decided to be nicer with Virgil, his jokes targets included him too. When had Roman even managed to give him a shrinking potion?
Who knew, but he definitely did because he was currently in the middle of his room, only a few inches tall, and he knew Roman was going to come and catch him on any moment.
He walked closer to the legs of his bed, under it being the safest and yet most dangerous place to hide, the door of his room opened, all Logan could see were those way too extra boots Roman always wore.
“Pocket watch, I know you’re in here” the creative side tarted to walk around the room, leaving the door opened unconsciously “Why don’t you do this easier for the two of us and accept your fate already? I swear I mean no harm, I just want to play a bit, I bet you’re way more fun at this size”
Logan glanced between the opened door and the side that prowled around his room, this could be his chance to escape from what Roman called his fate, if he could find any of the others, they would help him grow back to normal, unless he came across one of the dark sides, he shivered at the thought and focused on his escape attempt.
With Roman distracted, he ran towards the door an made his ay to the other’s rooms.
Roman had knelt down and was now looking for Logan around the floor, but he was nowhere to be seen, he looked back, finally noticing the opened door “Oh, so the microchip wants a cat and mouse game?” He smirked and got out of the room.
Logan froze once he heard Roman calling for him, there was nowhere where he could hide, he noticed he was just next to a door, he laid on the floor and crawled trough the small space between the door and the floor, not really knowing which room this was.
Once he was inside, he was faced with a deep darkness and a sudden feeling of anxiety, knowing immediately who’s room it was, Virgil’s room.
He looked up, the anxious side was sitting on his bed with his phone and headphones, knowing him, he was probably scrolling trough tumblr with music at full volume, meaning he wouldn’t hear Logan’s small voice.
He looked around the room, the nightstand next to the bed had a small lamp the was turned on, the wire of it going all the way down to where it was plugged , he could use that to climb and then jump to Virgil’s bed.
He got onto it, running to the wire and climbing as fast as he could before the room could start to affect him.
As he made it to the top, he started feeling more and more anxious, but everything would turn out good if he got Virgil’s attention, but what is he couldn’t do it? The amount of anxiety the room would cause on his body at this size if he stayed more than he had to could be harmful, a side couldn’t die but they could get extremely ill or hurt, and that happening to Logan was not an option, Thomas needed him.
Logan got to the top and looked at Virgil once more, he was still on the same position, haven’t noticed the logical side’s presence at all.
Logan prepared himself and ran towards the ent of the nightstand, jumping to the bed when the floor below him was about to disappear, landing right next to Virgil’s legs.
“What the?” Virgil took his headphones off and left his phone aside, finally noticing Logan, he reached out and grabbed him, lifting him on his cupped hands all the way up to his face “Logan? Is that you”
“Indeed, Roman gave me a shrinking potion as his usual joke for April fools, I managed to escape and get into your room for help”
“But why to my room?” Virgil asked, getting out of his bed and putting his shoes on before walking to the door “do you know how dangerous it is?”
“I do” Logan replied adjusting his glasses and holding one of Virgil’s fingers, startled by the sudden movement “but your’s was the first room I stumbled upon”
Virgil walked out of his room and Logan felt all his anxiety going away “Well, now we have to find Roman and force him to turn you back I guess”
“Yes, that would be the most suggested thing to do now, since neither of us have the ability to reverse this”
Virgil looked around the hallway, no Roman, he would have to look around the mindpalace after all, the anxious side looked at the logical one on his hand “uh... do you mind if I leave you in my pocket? I don’t really think it’s safe for me to carry you on my hand”
Logan though for a moment “if that would make you feel better, then yes”
“Okay” Virgil got his hand inside of his hoodie’s pocket and carefully left Logan there “just let me know if you get uncomfortable”
“I will” Logan sat on the fabric, actually feeling safe for the first time on the day.
Summary: Logan’s experiment has quite literally blown up in his face. Good thing Roman is there to help him out. Oh, and tease him.
Warnings: Fear and guilt
A loud boom jolted Roman awake. He sat up and wasted no time in hopping out of bed and opening his bedroom the door. His eyes immediately went to his roommate's door, which was now leaking smoke at every crack. Eyes wide, Roman ran to the door, opening it wide.
He didn’t take into account the smoke, however, and coughed violently as he inhaled it. He waved it away with his one hand as the other was kept close to his mouth. “Logan!” He cried, trying to find his roommate within the smoke.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the smoke to disperse. As if it hadn’t been there in the first place but now, Roman could clearly see how much of a mess Logan’s room was in. The explosion must have been the cause, as things seemed to have been knocked down all over and a strange liquid covered the walls.
But the most important thing Roman noticed, was that Logan was nowhere to be seen.
“Logan!” He called out again, concern etched into his features as he stepped more into the room. But as he did so, a small voice spoke up.
“Roman, stop!” The voice screamed. And Roman did, with his foot still in the air. He carefully set it back down where it had been with furrowed eyebrows. That voice...that had sounded like Logan.
He heard the tiniest of sighs. “Look down.” The same voice called out. Roman did and his eyes went wide at what-or rather who-he saw.
Logan, no more than 4 inches tall.
“L-Logan?” Roman asked, just to make sure and Logan simply nodded his head. With a slight pinch on his own arm for the confirmation that he wasn’t dreaming, he dropped down to his knees. The simple action alone causing Logan to nearly fall over. “What...What on earth happened to you?”
Logan sighed, adjusting his oh so tiny glasses. “I was experimenting with a few chemicals, trying to make a serum in order to enlarge things,” Logan said, then motioned to himself. “As you can see, it appears to have done the...opposite.”
Roman took a glance around the room again. “I’m guessing it also wasn’t supposed to explode either?” Logan let out a long sigh.
“Yes, Roman. Astute observation.” Logan sent his roommate a deadpan look, his tone dripping with sarcasm. It was strange, seeing such a familiar expression on such a tiny face. Just...hell, Roman was stilling having a hard time coming to the fact that Logan was so small.
“Is this...permanent?” Roman asked, nervous for Logan. He watched as Logan bit his lip in slight thought.
“No...No, it shouldn’t be. I give this a day at the most and if I don’t revert back, I could always figure out an antidote. After all, I managed to shrink myself. If I figure out where to tweak the serum, I should be able to make the enlarge serum I was originally aiming for.” Logan explained and Roman calmed down a little. He was glad Logan wasn’t stuck like this.
Roman’s eyes scanned over Logan again and with the knowledge that Logan was not in any danger of having to live like this forever, a mischievous smile took over Roman’s features. At the expression, Logan took a step back, looking at his friend warily.
“Roman...whatever it is you are thinking, I highly suggest you-hey!” Logan was cut off as a giant hand reached out and wrapped around his small frame. He struggled against it but stopped after realizing it was futile. Clearly, he was no match for Roman like this. Instead, he settled for glaring at his giant of a roommate.
Roman just grinned at the miniature death glare he was receiving. “Oh, don’t be like that Logan. I mean, come on. Look at you! You can’t expect me not to have a little fun.” Roman chuckled and carefully stood up, being wary of his hold on Logan.
“Roman, I swear if you don’t put me down this instant I will-”
“You’ll what?” Roman cut him off. “Not to point out the obvious or anything but...you are kind of helpless like this Lo.” Roman gently poked Logan in the side as he made his point and Logan flinched back just a tad. Logan huffed.
“Yes, I am well aware of that.” The grip around him was a constant reminder of that little fact. “I would still like to be put down though.”
“I will...eventually.” Honestly, Roman was enjoying holding Logan like this. It was weird and fascinating all at the same time. Besides, he loved messing with Logan and now it had just gotten ten times easier and about a hundred times more entertaining. This was going to be fun.
“But for now, I think you’ll be sleeping in my room tonight.” Before he was even done with his sentence, he was out of Logan’s room and heading towards his own.
“What? No, Roman I-Roman!” Logan called out, trying to get Roman to stop. He tried once more to push against the fingers but, unsurprisingly, it did nothing.
“Look, Lo, this is just in case something happens. I mean, anything could with you this tiny.” Roman explained, shutting his door and taking a seat on his bed.
“I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself, small or not,” Logan said in defense but Roman just shook his head.
“Come on, Lo. What would you have even done if I hadn’t gone in there? Stay on the floor the entire night?” Roman asked, eyebrow raised.
Logan was quiet for a moment. “...It doesn't matter, I would have been perfectly fine.” Roman chuckled and once again prodded Logan’s side, only for Logan to try and push it away. Of course, he was unsuccessful.
“I’m not changing my mind, sorry,” Roman said, not sounding sorry at all. He was even sporting a grin.
Logan groaned but he knew there was no arguing with Roman. He was just as stubborn as Logan himself, after all. “Fine. Then lend me a pillow and let’s just go to bed.” At least if they were sleeping nothing could happen. Of course, when he saw Roman smirk, Logan got a bad feeling.
“Why Logan, who said anything about sleeping?” Roman teased, bringing Logan a little closer to his face. Logan let out a small yelp but did his best to hide it.
“What about the time?” Indeed, it was getting to be very late.
“And when has that ever stopped you from staying up, hmm?” Roman hummed. Logan cursed under his breath but Roman was right. Even tonight, he had been planning on staying up for as long as it took to complete his serum.
“Yes but what about you? I know you like to get your ‘beauty’ sleep.” Logan tried, despite knowing Roman could be just as bad as him some days. Especially when he had a good idea.
“Well, I’m already awake and I don’t think I would even be able to sleep. Not with knowing you’re like this.” Roman shook his head and stood back up. “Oh no, you and I are going to have some fun.” He started walking over to his desk as Logan continued to push and struggle against Roman’s fingers.
“Roman I swear if you-” Roman cut him off.
“Relax Microchip, nothing is gonna happen to you. What do you take me for?” He set Logan down on the desk and Logan let out a small sigh of relief, happy to be back on solid ground. Still, though, he was not looking forward to anything Roman had planned.
Roman thought for a moment, looking around his room before he remembered something. With a grin he ran to his closet, coming out with a small box. Logan looked at the box warily as Roman sat down and placed it on the desk not too far from Logan. “Hey Lo, remember how I’ve always wanted to give you a makeover but you’ve never allowed me to?”
Logan did not like where this was going. “Yes…?”
Roman grinned and opened the box to reveal its contents. “Well, I think now is the perfect opportunity!” Logan’s eyes widened when he saw the box was filled with doll clothing. Doll clothing that would, at the moment, be close to if not a perfect fit.
“Wha-why do you even have those?” Logan asked, taking a step back. Roman huffed.
“Hey, don’t judge me. Sometimes I like the look of dolls clothing and I buy them.” He grinned. “And I’m glad I did because now, I have a use for them!”
Logan glared. “No.”
“Oh, and you’re going to stop me?” Roman teased. “Come on Apple Watch, it’ll be fun. And such a nice upgrade from your usual nerdy attire.” Roman started to sift through the box to try and find the perfect outfit. Meanwhile, Logan was looking every which way, looking for a way out of this mess.
Should he risk climbing down the desk? It would be quite the fall if he slipped, maybe even a fatal one...but even that was starting to sound better than staying here and having Roman use him as a dress-up doll.
He started to inch his way towards the edge, picking up the pace as he went but he was stopped with a loud yelp as something grabbed the back of his shirt, pulling him back and lifting him up into the air. He flailed as he hung in the air, trying to push at Roman’s finger above him. “Roman!”
“And just where did you think you were going?” Roman raised an eyebrow but there was a playful smile on his face. “Nice try but you’d have to be quicker than that.”
Logan thought he would be put down after that but instead, Roman kept him where he was as he continued to go through the box of clothes. Logan struggled until his eyes caught the ground below him and he froze. The desk, by all means, was not that far below him at all. But at his size, it seemed so much farther and if he were to fall or Roman were to drop him the fall would still cause injury.
“R-Roman put me down.” Logan winced at his stuttering, hoping Roman wouldn’t notice. He didn’t, but he also didn’t seem inclined to listen to Logan at all.
“In a second…” Roman said offhandley, eyes never leaving the clothes.
Logan growled. “Roman put me-!”
“Ah ha! Here we are!” Roman exclaimed, cutting Logan off. But he finally set Logan back down, Logan sighing in relief. But it was short-lived as Roman revealed the clothes he had chosen for Logan to wear.
The doll clothing was almost a carbon copy of Roman’s favorite prince costume. An outfit he had been allowed to keep after a production of Into The Woods. He sometimes wore it around though not too often, as he stated he didn’t want to ruin it.
How he had gotten a mini version of it, he had no idea, but there was no way Roman was getting him in that.
“No,” Logan said again, glaring.
“It’s either you put it on or I put it on for you,” Roman said with a smirk. Logan narrowed his eyes, taking a small step back.
“...You wouldn’t.” Logan said, not believing his own words. And he was right not to, as Roman grinned and reached his hand out, snatching Logan within it. Logan struggled. “Roman!” He was not getting used to the feeling of fingers surrounding his body anytime soon. Nor how fast Roman was when he was like this.
Logan continued to struggle but it was useless. Already Roman was forcing the outfit onto him. The only thing Logan could be thankful for was that Roman was putting it on over the clothes he was already wearing.
Logan had never felt so helpless in his entire life. And he was hating every second of it.
Eventually, he was put down. Now sporting the copy of Roman’s prince outfit. His hair was disheveled from Roman forcing it onto him and Logan felt absolutely miserable. But of course, Roman looked as though he had just received the best present ever.
“Now that is an improvement!” Roman exclaimed. He then got out his phone and snapped a picture before Logan could say anything. Logan blinked before glaring.
“Delete that.” He practically growled out.
“Now why would I do that? In fact, I think I’ll send it to Virgil and Patton. I’m sure they would love to see it!” Roman smiled as he tapped a few buttons and Logan’s eyes widened.
“No! Don’t send it!” Logan said, taking several steps towards Roman. Roman looked at him with a smirk.
“Just gotta press one more button…” Roman teased but Logan was having none of it. He was done.
“P-Please, Roman, do not send that photo!” Logan practically begged. It wasn’t even the outfit, though that was half of it. He didn’t want anyone else seeing him like this. So small and helpless and-and-
“Logan…?” Roman’s voice rang above him and something came towards him. Logan flinched back violently as he realized it was Roman’s hand. At the reaction, Roman snapped his hand back.
Logan let out a slow, uneven breath. “I-I’m sorry, I…” Logan trailed off as Roman shook his head.
“No, I’m sorry. Here I’ll-I’ll delete it.” Roman pressed a few buttons on his phone and then turned it to show Logan that is had indeed been deleted. Logan let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank you,” Logan said after a moment and Roman nodded. An awkward silence fell over them.
“Logan? Are you okay?” Roman asked, finally breaking the silence. Logan met his eyes, quickly looking away. But he nodded.
“Yes, perfectly fine, now that that photo is deleted,” Logan said but Roman was still frowning. He wasn’t buying it.
“Logan…” Roman reached out his hand towards Logan again and was met with another flinch. Though this time, Logan tried to hide it as him simply taking a few steps back. Roman drew his hand back again, looking sad and more than a little guilty. “Logan, are you...scared?” the of me was left unsaid.
Logan blinked and glared up at Roman. “Of course not! Logically, I have no reason to be scared of you. You are my friend, I have known you for years and I know for a fact you would never harm me. Yes, you are rather big in comparison to myself right now and your presence is more than a little overwhelming. And you can grab me like I am nothing and ignore me just as easily and you do like to tease which I know is all in good fun but at the size, I am I-”
“Logan.” His name cut through his ramblings and Logan’s eyes snapped over to Roman.
“What?!” He cried. Roman continued to look at him sadly.
“You’re shaking,” Roman said quietly. Logan’s eyes widened and he looked down at his hands to see that they were indeed shaking. And now that he was paying more attention, he could feel that his legs were like jello and something was running down his cheeks. He felt his face, realizing as it came away wet that he was crying.
“Oh,” Logan said simply.
“I’m so sorry, Logan,” Roman spoke, causing Logan’s attention to turn away from himself. “I...I’m a pretty terrible friend, huh? Ignoring you like I did. Making you do things you didn’t want to do…” Oh gosh, he was a monster.
Logan sighed. “It’s...well, it’s not alright but I understand where you were coming from. Like I stated before, you like to tease people. It’s how you show affection. I am usually okay with it, however, in this case, the teasing felt more...it made me feel more helpless and scared than loved.” Logan admitted after much hesitation. He hated talking about his feelings but he needed to help Roman understand.
“Right...and I should have realized that…” Roman just felt absolutely awful. “Not only as a decent human being but as your friend.”
Logan looked at Roman for a moment before coming over and placing a tiny hand on Roman’s own. “I forgive you. Just...please don’t do it again.” Logan said, his lips twitching up in a small smile. Roman returned it.
“Of course, um,” Roman remembered the outfit he had put Logan in. “Do you need help taking that off…?” Roman asked but Logan shook his head.
“No, I got it.” Logan was quick to take the doll clothing off. Feeling a lot better as he did so. He handed it to Roman, who tossed it back into the box. “And I think it might be a good time to head to bed.”
Roman nodded. “Yeah, I think you’re right.” At least asleep, he couldn’t mess up again. He went to grab Logan but froze before his hand could barely leave his side. “How do you want to...do this?”
“What? Oh, right.” Of course, he couldn’t get to the bed himself. “Offer me your hand and I can climb on?” Logan suggested. Roman nodded and did so. Logan only hesitated slightly before climbing on. Logan braced himself but was surprised that, unlike all the other times, Roman moved slowly and carefully, cupping his hand enough to make sure Logan wouldn’t fall but not surrounding him. Logan found himself liking this change.
“Do you want to be on the bed? Or I could make you a mini bed on the nightstand?” Roman asked and Logan thought it over for a moment.
“I’ll sleep on the bed. Just set me down on the pillow.” Logan said. Roman nodded and brought him over, setting him down gently onto a barely used pillow. Logan blinked in surprise at how soft the pillow felt. It was actually quite nice.
Roman got into bed on the opposite side, pulling up the covers so that Logan could use it as well. Logan nodded in thanks and curled into the blanket. Roman couldn’t help the smile at how cute Logan looked like that.
“Goodnight Lo,” Roman said, turning off the lights and settling down.
“Goodnight, Roman,” Logan answered in return. The two were out in a matter of minutes.
***
When Logan woke up the next morning, he felt something wrapped around his waist. He squirmed and forced his eyes open. He grabbed his glasses and put them on to get rid of the blurriness and blinked in surprise.
He was...normal size again.
Oh, thank goodness.
Logan tried to get out of bed but momentarily forgot about the weigh across his waist and as he tried to move away, he was pulled back. He huffed and looked back to see Roman was the one holding him in place. “Roman.”
Roman hummed and shifted, opening his eyes and looking down at Logan. They widened in surprise. “Logan! You’re normal sized again!”
“Yes, it appears the serum only lasts a few hours. That is good to know.” Though he might need to test for the exact amount of time in the future. “Now, if you could let me go, that would be appreciated.”
Roman looked to be in thought for a moment before he grinned. “Nah.” Logan was pulled even closer to Roman’s chest. “I say we sleep for another hour or two.”
“Wha-Roman, I need to get up.” Logan tried.
“Do you have class?” Roman asked.
“No, but-”
“Work?”
“I don’t have to go in but I-”
“Then we can spend a few more hours resting Lo. I think you deserve it, at the very least.” Roman said. Logan huffed but he knew there would be no fighting Roman on this. Especially with how strong Roman was.
Besides, though he wouldn’t admit it out loud, he was actually quite comfortable.
“Fine.” Logan sighed and shifted so he was turned around to bury his face in Roman’s chest. Roman grinned at his victory and settled down.
“Good. Oh, and I’m glad you’re back to normal Logan. No hard feelings, right?” Roman asked, half teasing, half actually worried.
“Of course not, Roman,” Logan said, his voice muffled slightly. “But don’t be surprised if you wake up small within the next few weeks.”
Roman blinked. “Wait, what?”
“Goodnight, Roman,” Logan said, a grin on his face.
This is the third part of 23.-Witchcraft and 29.-Black Cat
Virgil heard the door of the house opening violently, he flinched and almost dropped the potion he was making “Virgil!” Shouted the witch that just entered to his house.
“In the workshop!” He shouted back.
Logan stood up and walked to the other end of the bottle he was on, after the incident with Dee, Virgil changed the bottle to a plastic one and left him in a high shelf, a guy entered to Virgil’s workshop ”Did you really made it?! Where is him?!”
”Good afternoon my lovely boyfriend I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner to see you” said Virgil in a sarcastic tone.
The other witch blushed ”I'm sorry” he hugged Virgil from behind and kissed his cheek ”I'm just exited”
Virgil giggled ”Don't you mean, I Roman Prince have to see if it's true because no other witch can be more powerful than me?” Said Virgil, imitating his boyfriend's voice.
Roman made some offended princey noises ”you know I'm happy for you, this is a really big accomplishment”
“I know, I’m just teasing you, he’s in the shelf” said Virgil, pointing at Logan.
Roman looked at where the other witch pointed, he got closer and Logan backed away until he touched the other end of the container, Roman picked up the bottle and hold it close to his face “wow, Virgil this is really impressive”
Logan looked at Virgil’s boyfriend, he was taller than him, his hair was shorter and his skin was darker then as well as his hair.
“Be careful, you’re going to scare him, the poor guy has gone through a lot already” said Virgil getting closer to them.
Roman smiled “Yeah, I bet getting shrunk by a witch is not something usual between humans”
Virgil rolled his eyes “that and he was being chased by Dee”
“Dee what?! Oh, maybe I shouldn’t have brought Patton, having two cats in the house could be a lot after that”
The human gulped, there was another cat, he looked down and saw who he supposed was Patton, it was a fluffy white cat and unlike Dee, it looked like the typical of cat you could cuddle with, but of course, Logan didn’t have a great experience with cats.
“Oh, I didn’t see him” Virgil kneeled “hey buddy” he said petting Patton “but he’s a good boy, he’ll never do anything to Logan, unlike someone else” the witch sent a glare to his cat, who was cleaning himself on the other side of the room.
Patton leaned on the touch and purred, he looked up at the human and lied on the floor, trying to appear less threatening.
Logan got distracted with the cat’s actions and didn’t notice the container being tilted until he fell in Roman’s hand, Virgil watched and stood up “I told you to be careful”
“I am being careful, I just want to get a closer look at him” Roman raised his hand closer to his face “It’s just so cool seeing something so familiar as a human in this scale”
Logan backed away from the giant face, still not used to it “I-I don’t want to bother you, but I’m not really comfortable with being held...” said Logan.
Roman got the human away from his face “I’m sorry” he said looking around “uh... where do you want me to leave you?”
“You can put him in the desk, we’re here Dee won’t try anything, if you’re okay with it” he said turning to the human.
“As long as you don’t leave me alone with him...”
“Of course” Roman walked to the desk and lowered his hand for Logan to jump off.
Patton jumped to the table once the human was on it, sitting with safe distance between them, Logan looked at him and backed away a few steps.
Roman noticed the human's nervousness ”Don't worry, Patton's harmless, he doesn't even captures the mice on my house, I doubt he'll do anything to you” the witch made a sign with his hand and Patton walked to him, purring once he was pet by his owner ”See, he's well behaved and perfectly trained”
”Dee doesn't give a shit about anyone except him, he's a brat and I'm stuck with him” said Virgil.
Logan looked at the white cat, he did looked nicer than Dee, but he wasn't going to take the risk that easily ”I'll be fine as long as you're here with them”
“Come on, you need to take a leap of faith, you can get surprised” said Roman.
Logan raised an eyebrow “I’m not sure that´s a good idea, any kind of leap would be mortal to me at this size”
Virgil huffed trying not to laugh “A figurative leap, what Roman meant is that you should try and trust Patton”
The human looked at the white cat “I-I’ll think about it…”
Before any of the witches could answer both cats looked at the door, moving their ears alarmed ”witch hunters” said Dee growling.
”Oh shit” Virgil walked to his magic materials, searching between them ”We need to protect the house”
”I'll help you” said Roman, he summoned a wand and with it a spell book.
Virgil looked at his boyfriend ”You should go back and protect your own house, I'll be fine”
”No, my house is closer to the human town, they already went there if they close, I'll help you and then I'll go to my house” Roman got out of the room ,Virgil followed him, still trying to convince him to go to his house.
And without noticing, both witches had left Logan alone in a room with two cats and no way to protect or defend himself, Dee stood up and jumped to the table, on the opposite side from here Patton was.
“Well, well, well, they forgot about you little mouse” he said, getting closer to Logan “We can have some more fun together”
Logan covered himself with his arms, waiting for Dee to jump and get him, but it never happened, he opened his eyes, just to find himself under a ball of white fur “I think you already caused enough damage to the human” it was Patton, Patton was protecting him.
The black cat purred angrily “Come on Patton, can you stop being soft and have fun for once?”
“Torturing a human is not really what I call fun” Patton sat, Leaving Logan between his paws “And as long as I’m here, you won’t get your claws on him any time soon Dee”
“Fine, I´ll find another thing to keep myself entertained in the meantime, but when you and Roman get out of here, that human will be mine” Dee got off the table and out of the room annoyed.
Logan got out a sigh of relief “thank you Patton” he said looking up at the cat.
Patton looked down at him “It´s nothing, I was just doing the right thing”
Logan smiled, and after all, he as reconsidering taking this figurative leap.
Logan woke up in a strange place, he tried to move but he was tied to some kind of bed, he turned his head and saw a chimney, he was in some kind of living room, there were shelves fulled of bottles with all kinds of plants and liquids Logan could not recognise, a man entered the room whit a cauldron “Oh, you’re awake, I thought the potion was stronger, I guess this will work even if you’re awake! He walked to a table and left the cauldron on it “just stay quiet” he went to grab some bottles from the shelves.
“Where am I? Who are you?”
“I told you to be quiet, jeez humans” he left the bottles on the table.
“I will not keep silence until you answer my questions”
“Ugh, fine” the man poured some of the content of one bottle into the cauldron, then put it down and looked at Logan “You’re in my house, my name’s Virgil, are you happy?
“Not quite” said Logan frowning “why am I here? Why am I tied? What are you doing? What are you going to do to me?”
Virgil sighed “I brought you here, because you can escape, a potion and you are my test subject, now if you don’t show up I’ll knock you out again” he turned to his potion and continued to mix different things.
“A potion for what?” Asked Logan, a little scared.
“I don’t know, the title of the recipe is missing, that’s why I want to try it on someone”
Logans eyes went wide “an you just kidnapped some random person to use as a test subject?!”
“Believe me, you’re not a random person” he took the cauldron and hung it on top of the fire of the chimney “I’ve been watching you for almost a month now”
“Wait what, why?”
“I’m a witch, but I’m not a monster, I wanted to make sure nobody was going to miss you”
Logan lay silently, it was true, his family never wanted him and he had no friends at school, but he had never really thought about it, and now he was alone, he was going to turn into an experiment and nobody was going to notice his disappearance.
Virgil took and empty bottle and filled it with the potion, once he had it, he turned off the fire “It’s ready” he got closer to Logan holding the purple liquid above him “I hope you are”
Logan sighed and closed his eyes, waiting for the worst, he felt his chest getting wet as the potion was spilled on him, he felt tingles all over his body, and for some reason, the ropes holding his wrists seemed to have loosened, was Virgil untying him?
He opened his eyes and looked up, he saw Virgil’s shocked face, but it was way to far away, he sat up, as he was no longer tied, then he noticed what the potion was doing to him, he was shrinking.
He looked down at himself, this was not possible, he was too amazed to notice the giant hand approaching to him until he was to late, he was lifted away from the bed he was in with no warning, he held Virgil’s fingers tightly, afraid of falling.
“Wow, I was not expecting this, I thought a size changing potion was imposible to make” said the witch, twisting Logan between his fingers as he kept shrinking.
“So I’m guessing you don’t have a way to reverse this...”
“Nop, any size changing is advanced and almost forgotten magic, I can’t believe I was able to do it” by the time he stopped talking, Logan had stopped shrinking “let’s measure you shall we?”
Virgil didn’t really waited for an answer and took the shrunken human to the table, he took a ruler that was nearby and put it next to Logan “now hold still... four inches”
Logan was shocked once again, the ruler itself was more than twice his height now, Virgil could hold him like he was nothing, and no one knew he was trapped there, with a witch, for him to do on him who knew what kind of crazy witchcraft.
Logan sat at the end of a jar, the witch decided to put him there while he did other stuff, the human couldn't really do something about it, he was at Virgil's mercy, he looked as he walked trough the room, gathering stuff, leaving them, and glancing to Logan once in a while.
Virgil realised there was an ingredient he was missing, it was in another room of the house ”I'll be right back” he said, leaving the room and the door open.
Logan looked as the witch left the room, he could try to escape, but he had nowhere else to go, and if he had to be like this for the rest of his life, he preferred staying with someone who would take care of him.
A small figure entered to the room, Logan couldn't really see what it was from the jar on the table, but something like a bell sounded, the creature jumped to the table and the human could now see it, it was a black cat, it had a scar on one of its eyes and it looked tough, the cat looked around in the table until he spotted Logan, and a malicious grin came to its face ”well well well, what do we have here?” It said, walking closer to Logan ”Virgil's new toy?”
”y-you can talk?” Asked Logan, he was a little nervous, he usually loved cats, but from his new point of view, he was now like a mouse to it, like a prey.
”Of course I can talk, but is weird, humans can't hear me, but are you even a human anymore?” It laughed and hit the jar slightly with his paw.
”I... I guess not...” he said startled by the sudden movement.
The cat hummed ”do you have a name or should I keep calling you my witch's pet?”
”Logan, my name is Logan”
”Well, you can call me Dee” the cat bumped the jar, leaving it on its side ”I'm sure Virgil wouldn't mind if I play with you for a while” he made the jar roll to the edge of the table and it broke, leaving Logan free.
Logan stood up and cleaned his clothes, fortunately, none of the glass pieces got to him, he wasn't that hurt from the fall either, he looked up, just in time to see Dee jumping dow to the floor.
The cat giggled ”you should see your face, don't worry” he said surrounding Logan ”I'm not going to hurt you, Virgil would kill me if I did something to you”
The human didn't wait a second more and he started to run, even if he knew Dee was faster than him.
”oh, the small human wants to play cat and mouse?” The cat ran to Logan, jumping above him and landing in front of him ”You are going to have to do better than that”
Logan yelped, barely stopping before bumping with Dee, he turned to the other side and ran again.
The cat used one of his claws to grab the back of Logan's shirt, lifting him up to eye level ”Poor little mouse, no matter what you do, I will always catch you”
The human looked at Dee with fearful eyes, he closed them, waiting for the worst, he heard the door opening and someone walking in.
Virgil looked down to his cat, or rather what he had in his paws, he sighed and left his things on the table, then, he knelt and put his hand with his palm facing up under Logan ”Let him go” Dee growled in response ”Dee, let him go” the cat rolled his eyes and let Logan fall into the witch's palm ”Bad cat, never do that again”
The witch stood up with the shrunken human in his hand ”are you okay?”
”physically, yes” he said adjusting his glasses ”mentally, not so much”
”ugh... I'm sorry, this familiar's nothing but trouble” said Virgil as he looked at Dee leaving the room.
”Don't worry... I'm okay now” being in Virgil's hand was a lot better than being in the claws of that black cat.
Patton goes into the imagination-Roman’s realm-and ends up picking some mushrooms he finds. They’re colorful, unlike regular mushrooms, but Patton is sure they aren’t poisonous. Especially since nothing in the imagination can actually kill them. He takes them back and decides to make them into a soup. He lets it sizzle on the stove as he goes and checks up on something.
Logan happens to pass by during this time and smells the soup Patton is cooking. He heads into the kitchen, setting his book down on the counter and deciding to do a quick taste of the soup. He finds the soup quite good and goes for another taste when he starts to feel...funny. He sets the spoon down just in time for him to hunch over. Logan closes his eyes and doesn’t open them again until the feeling dies down. But when he opens his eyes, he finds that things around him have changed.
Everything is towering over him and it takes Logan a moment to process what had just happened. His logical brain is having a hard time believing that he is now shrunk down to what appeared to be around four or five inches tall. Logan is silently freaking out when the ground under him starts to shake. That kicks him into moving and Logan presses himself up against the wall, away from the middle of the floor. And just in time too as he turns to look, a socked foot is now where he once was.
Logan shivers at the bigness of everything and strains his head to look up. He can’t see past the underside of the person’s chin, but it was clear from the blue polo and gray hoodie wrapped around his shoulders that the person was Patton. Logan watched as Patton stirred the soup and took a spoonful. Logan’s eyes widened as he realized the same thing would happen to Patton if he ate the soup and so before he could fully realize what he was doing, Logan called out to Patton.
Patton paused, spoon of soup barely an inch away from his mouth. It fell away, back into the pot as Patton looked around questionably for the source of the noise. It had almost sounded like Logan, but the voice had sounded so quiet. Logan noticed Patton looking around for him and yelled again. This time, Patton looked down and his eyes locked with Logan’s. Both stared wide eyed in shock and Patton whispered Logan’s name as he knelt down in front of the shrunken side.
Logan wanted to run, to hide and get away from what his body assumed was a threat. But he stayed, knowing it was illogical to run from someone who would never hurt him. Of course, accidents were a thing, but he pushed those away. Patton knew when to be careful and despite everything Logan trusted the emotional trait. Patton is still in shock and Logan is the one who manages to say something first. “I wouldn’t eat the soup.” He says simply and Patton blinks and starts to actually freak out.
Logan calms Patton down and asks Patton what the soup was made of. Patton answers with mushrooms, from the imagination and Logan silently curses. Of course it was from the imagination. Logan suggests looking for Roman and getting this sorted out. The imagination was his realm after all. Patton nods and without thinking, reaches a hand out to grab Logan.
Logan lets out a yelp as Patton’s hand curls around him and lifts him up into the air as if he weighed nothing. Which he probably did at this size. He calls out, voice trembling with poorly hidden fear for Patton to stop and the hand freezes at Patton’s chest level. Who at this point was now standing. Patton realizes what he has done and opens his hand up, allowing Logan to sit freely in the palm of his hand. He apologizes, asking Logan if he is okay as he guides a finger towards Logan’s side. Logan flinches away and Patton stops. Logan composes himself and says he is fine and Patton goes with it even though he can tell that Logan is lying. But he goes to find Roman.
Roman is in his room, along with Virgil. Patton busts in, interrupting what seemed to be a private movie watching. Virgil is sitting at the foot of the bed, while Roman is laying on top, head at the end of the bed. Patton doesn’t even pay attention to what movie they are watching as he yells that they have a problem. Roman pauses the movie and both traits get up, sending a questioning look towards the father figure. Patton reveals Logan in his hand and the other’s eyes go wide. Logan finds himself shrinking away at their gazes and is very uncomfortable with being surrounded by three towering giants.
Virgil starts freaking out over the situation and Roman asks how this happened. Patton explains and when getting to the mushrooms, Roman asks for more details. When Patton gives them, Roman facepalms and explains that those are Alice in Wonderland esque mushrooms. Logan speaks up for the first time, asking if there is a cure and Roman says there is, but the mushrooms to grow Logan are much harder to find.
Cue Roman and (after some convincing) Virgil leaving into the imagination to go and find said mushrooms. Leaving Logan and Patton alone in the mindscape.
