Pond clean day! Featuring Bento, Chanko, 3 unnamed fish (though I'm mulling over ideas) and Wasabi who is Sick Of My Shit Chanko has a little issue with his back and I think it's because the pond has been very low in level so the pond rings have been at weird angles
I guess I kinda owe updates on this. I've had my pond now for nearly a year and out fish in about 3 weeks ago! Unfortunately I have a big issue with algae- but yesterday I went and got MORE plants. Also please meet my friendly blackbird! They're a sweet juvenile!
#Aquarium update. My #shubunkins decimated my #neocaridina #shrimp population and made a mockery of my #plantedaquarium. I decided to take out the substrate and sand which makes it a heck of a lot easier to keep clean. The #soil then came in handy for repotting my #cactus! All four of our #goldfish (two comets and two #shubunkins), made it through another winter. Unfortunately, our pond pump pooped out shortly after I plugged it in. My #neocaridina #shrimp are now accompanied by two gorgeous #shubunkins. The shrimp now lead a more sheltered life of obscurity, hidden away, just living their lives within the many crevices that make up my #aquarium. The truth is, I found shrimp boring and I wanted something more. So I’m now going for a well-fed, community tank theory I saw on #youtube: if you keep the tank’s pantry stocked well enough, nobody will eat each other! It takes a lot of maintenance as these new fish eat like pigs, and shit out endless ribbons of waste.
