I'm playing Doki Doki Literature Club for the first time

I've tried a lot, but I can't stop thinking about a throwaway "what if" ask one of the Voltron blogs I follow got It was like "WHAT IF THE FANDOM-CAUGHT CLONE SHIRO IN S3 IS ACTUALLY THE REAL SHIRO AND S1&S2 SHIRO WAS THE CLONE" And that's all well and good I guess, because for me everyone's a part of The Team until proven otherwise, and I'm gonna need a whole soliloquy-episode with all them deets 'bout Project Kuron before I sign myself for any more agony or trauma than I am strictly required to parse for these characters. But I'm also re-watching Voltron: LD slowly and surely (for research purposes because I've got a fanfic idea I need to place in the continuity, somewhere), and... Like... Idk, things I had attributed to Shiro's trauma before are looking super suspish', and stuff I assumed was because of the Infallible Eternity of Cartoons© has since been disproved as possible in VLD, and means other stuff I had dismissed is now ALSO looking suspish',,,,,,,,,,, And like, usually I just like to play with the intellectual possibilities of Fandom's meta-theories, then once I've had my fill, laugh and wave as they (steam)roll past, but... I just cannot shake this one, and it's really starting to gnaw at me,,,,, Who IS Takashi Shirogane Of Earth??

I want to get into the Fandom Scene again and write fanfics again and enjoy things But there is so much hate and fear from people. This "don't interact" stuff,, The abundance of anxiety and fear people express at the simplest concepts. The readiness for dissent and aggression. I want to join fandom to enjoy things, and make stuff other people enjoy. I don't want to upset people and cause stress. I don't understand the precedent. It's so saddening to see. I always knew fandom as a force to join people, but it looks like as it becomes more common-place, that is waning. I mean. I know the history of things. But I've never personally seem it so...open and prevalent, myself,,,,

A friend told me to make a writeblr but i dont know how to have anything other than a "multifandom jamboree of idk" so I'm not sure how to do it

But the writeblr tag is so Mood™ and I'm gonna lose a bet with my dad if I don't buckle down and get more writing done and it would be nice to participate in a writing community of some kind on a platform I'm familiar with, hhhhh

Dear Writeblr: how participate what do??? What is a writeblr and how does it work, mom said i can play too but i dunno the Rules™

(I write mostly fiction, w the occasional poem to unwind. Mostly soft fantasy, with romance, YA and action-adventure themes. And i have a burgeoning interest in horror as well! That's a thing i saw people say about themselves in intro posts, but i wouldn't call this an intro tbh.)

y'all are really missing out in the Fanon Trenches, I'm seeing discourse out there where y'all are like "oh noes, i read a fic but then SURPRISE the person I HC as not topping TOPPED when it got Sexy™, alaaaaaas"

Nooo. *smacks ur hands* No. Don't be that way, pls.

There are three (3) things we're talking about here.

First (#1), as a queer male, lemme tell ya, everyone has their preferences but there is little as satisfying as generally being flustered by your partner, but then it is YOU who has done the flustering!! It is!! A power trip!! It is!! So nice! It's REALLY satisfying, and I know we all wanna be Spoiled, but we should also seek to Spoil the ones we love and so reeling when you're surprised that a couple in fic do this is v disheartening for me to see. Maybe it isnt EXACTLY the way you hoped to see the Ship portrayed, but there's no need to Ollie Out about it because half the fun in fandom is slightly different interpretations of what is arguably the same character, and we all out here to just have a good time, okay??

Second (#2), as a queer male, there's some kind of Unfortunate tendency in the mlm community to ID as either a Top or a Bottom (or, rarely, a Vers, ie Versatile), and it's just a little sad. Like people will straight-up just bail out on romance bc they can't see their partner accomodating their sexual preferences. It's sad and It's prevalent and it's Also Disheartening, and I don't come to a fandom predominated by fems and NBs to see even more of that in these fictional relationships. Let fictional people have healthy and fulfilling relationships regardless of sexual preferences or kinks, please. If we can't have that in reality, at least let me pretend it's possible in fiction. There's a very 2005 Seme/Uke/Paddle anime convention vibe to it, and it gets my ancient, crackly skin a-crawlin', I just want these guys to have a happy relationship okay. Let them be gay and let that be enough. We don't need to know "who is the man and who is the woman" in the relationship, ppl ARENT like that, and your feelings on penetrative sex (and note: not every mlm is even INTO that) dont need to be projected onto your favorite character so heavily, that it SOMEHOW ruins a fic you otherwise loved. That's not necessary. Cool it, fam'.

And third (#3), I was gonna go on a charming rant about some great top/bottom/vers relationship exchanges to seduce you all into my way of thinking, but this is a fever rant I typed on my phone so I've already forgotten all of it, whoops. /shrugkaomoji BUT TRUST ME. I PROMISE IT IS WAY MORE ROMANTIC AND WAAAAY MORE ATTRACTIVE TO BE FLEXIBLE W YOUR SHIPS.
