so here is my full written blog regarding our trip to Siargao.
so yeaaa... if you want to know information on where to go, places to visit, places to eat etc etc. keep on reading ;)
To start of, my boyfriend and I and some of our friends stayed in Siargao from July 5-9 2018. We stayed at Turtle Surf Hotel.
My boyfriend and I stayed at “Rock Island” a separate room double room with a ceiling fan and aircon. A shower with hot and cold water. A small pool and a kitchen with fridge, beers etc etc and an outdoor lounge with TV and sofa with books and playing cards and other board games.
the price for this place is affordable. so go through booking.com to check the prices of their rooms.
ADVICE: book your accommodation a month or 2 months before going as they get sold out reaaaaaaaaally quickly.
with that being said, lets talk about transportation.
We flew via Skyjet Airlines as it offers a direct flight from Manila to Siargao. It was an hour and thirty or forty minutes. the flight is affordable and thank god! we didn’t experience any delays (as it normally happens in Philippine domestic flights).
They offer water bottle and a small snack (mamon or something similar) throughout the flight.
When we arrived in Siargao, we then took a van (300pesos per person) to drive us straight to the hotel (as we have quite a lot of bags with us) and was unfamiliar with the place.
Alternatively, you can take Habal-Habal or trycicle for a cheaper price (30-60 pesos) depending on the location you want to get to. Actually, around the place it is much more affordable to go around via Habal-Habal or trycicle.
Ok so when we arrived in the hotel, we rested for a bit. We were suppose to go around the place but there was heavy rain that afternoon we decided to stay in and hang around the lounge playing cards.
For the Activites we did, we booked our activites via MySiargaoGuide.com
Guys I have to say, their tour package is soooooo good! the tour guides are very friendly and they really help you with everything and give you knowledge about everything regarding the places you visit. It is a bit “more” expensive comparing to other companies, however, it includes all the entrance fees and the meals and snacks and drinks. So it is a very good deal!
The only downside about the trip, I would say, would be the boat that they use to tour around. We were 7 people who went to tour around the place and the boat was quite small and the machines they have are very loud and noisy. But then again, once you get to the place, all that is worth it.
I also have to mention, the bankeros in Siargao are very skilled! On one of the occasions when we were going back from our hotel there were massive waves and we were really scared that our banka will sink (the waves were really super strong!) but then our bankeros were really calm and they did everything to make our trip smoother.
Ok so moving on, MySiargaoGuide and I made an itinerary for the duration of our stay in Siargao to visit most of the “must-see” places in Siargao.
Oh also, I forgot to mention, the meeting place for the tour is at Bravo Resort, this is where we meet our tour guides and also where we take our bankas.
Day 1: Sohoton Cove and Jellyfish Sanctuary
In Sohoton Cove we went through a small cove where the water is illuminating. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to take any pictures as it was very dark inside. it was very enchanting place.
We also went to another place (somewhere in Sohoton Cove) where we went through a cave-like place and did cliff diving! it was 3 metres high.
That was the first time ever! That I did Cliff Diving. The same for my boyfriend! I am super proud for both of us! *giggling*
Anyyyyywaaaaay...after the Cliff Diving...
We went inside the Jellyfish Sanctuary.
Before we went through the Jellyfish Sanctuary, we were briefed by one of the Tour Guides there.
We had our small boat with a bankero. We went inside the Jellyfish Sanctuary. It was very calming inside and very quiet.
There were different types of Jellyfishes. But mostly I saw jellyfishes with brown and blue heads. By the way, they are sting-less! meaning they are safe to touch.
We then had a late lunch and went back to our place.
