When members of a college fraternity find themselves competing for a prestigious fellowship the stability of their brotherhood is called into question. That was the premise of “Sibling Rivalries” the final play reading by a member of the Liberation Theatre Company Writing Residency Program for C-More Festival 2019.

Elodie always felt out of place in a big Hold like Solitude. Regardless, she knocked on the door to the mansion lightly, awaiting someone's answer. When a male Breton answered, she smiled at him for a moment before clearing her throat. "Morning, sir," she said and bit her lower lip for a moment." I apologize for the intrusion, but I was told to give you a hug." Explanation given, she gently wrapped her arms around him before letting him go just as quickly. "Have a pleasant evening, sir."

Luther answered the door, setting the dark glass bottle on a table right next to the massive wooden doors. “Bonjour,” he greeted in return with a quick nod. 

He took a step outside to make it easier for her to give him the hug, and he hugged her back firmly. The sound of her heartbeat combined with her smell was almost arousing, but he didn’t act on it. He simply gave her back a light pat before he released her. The vampire offering her a toothy smile, then moved back into his home.

"You too, miss, and don’t stray too far off the roads."

Archer caught the young Imperial outside and tapped his arm. "This is going to be awkward, but I'm pretty much being forced to do it," he said with an apologetic smile. Then he leaned down and placed a quick kiss upon Kai's forehead before straightening. "Have a nice night."

Kai spun around when he felt someone tapped his shoulder, his gaze fixed on the other man’s face. Before he could ask about it, Archer began explaining. Every now and then while he was explaining, Kai’s attention darted down to the Imperial’s neck, stayed there for a brief second or two before bouncing back up to meet his eyes. 

He had been paying too much attention to the man’s pulse, and too little attention to what he was saying. When Archer pressed a kiss to his forehead, he felt his eyes go black. Luckily, before he could do any harm, the Imperial pulled away, but Kai’s eyes remained black. He blinked repeatedly and turned his head a little, looking away from the guard. “You too, sir,” he muttered.
