Took some photos to share with Wade Davis, and thought much of the time he, Tim Plowman, and the father of modern ethnobotany himself, Schultes, spent there. - A conversation between Claudio Naranjo and Schultes. Claudio opened the conversation: - “What do you think of the jaguars?" - “What jaguars?" - A small silence. - “Are you personally familiar with authentic Banisteriopsis caapi?" asked Claudio, his voice slightly strained. - Richard looked at him closely. "I was the person who assigned it its name." - Claudio went on. Trampolín de la Muerte - The Trampoline of Death - A stretch of dirt connecting the southern cities of Pasto to Mocoa in Colombia. - I lost count of the number of river crossings, as the waterfalls cascade right down the road. - There were moments when the mist cleared enough to see the 1,000 meter sheer drops into the valley below, a sea of lush green beneath the precipices and more than 100 hairpin turns. - This road has claimed hundreds of lives since it was built to transport soldiers back in 1930. - I highly recommend it, but it is impassable in severe weather. #dontgetdizzy #trampolindelamuerte #colombia #mototravel #motoadventure #andes #putumayo #narino #sibundoy #womenwhoride @royalenfield @giantloopmoto (at EL TRAMPOLÍN DE LA MUERTE - VÍA DEL PUTUMAYO (Pasto - Mocoa))
