Sick Reader who got diagnosed with an illness that is destroying their body from the inside. Growing weaker everyday, and staying in bed almost twenty four hours a day. Sleeping all day, to conserve their energy.

Sick Reader who met Kai before the illness came, once the first symptoms came Kai only doubled his protection. Kai who restored and rebuilt his family old blacksmith shop to become a home for the both of you.

The two of you had a wedding in secret, only the wedding officiate knew. Kai who becomes more protective and a bit delusional. You will get better, is a line always repeating in his head. If he could just find the right cure, or right substance to help you. Kai was slowly losing his sanity, knowing he can’t do anything to help you. He watched everyday seeing the illness taking more of you. He wrapped his arms around you, his grip was tight and warm due to his power.

You hear him repeating the same words over and over again, “ I’m sorry, I can’t save you.” Kai could save Ninjago, save his teammates, but he couldn’t save you.

In the eyes of the media, everyone in Ninjago saw the red ninja as loud, hot-headed, and most importantly powerful.

His teammates know him as loyal, impulsive, and sometimes a cocky man. Kai was satisfied, he had his cocky moments, but his loyalty outweighed every bad quality of his.

Once night approaches, he would always escape, leaving unnoticed and returning before anyone woke up. Where he went was no one business, it was his secret. Once Kai saw the house on the hill he knew he was home. Opening the door to a quiet house. He walk to the close door, hearing quiet humming. He slowly open the door and saw you. Kai felt all his stress go away at an instant.

You look up, your eyes growing weaker by the minute. Kai rush to your side, telling you to not waste any energy on him. He was just glad that you’re still here. You coughed, it sounded more violent than usual, your body was slowly growing weaker. Kai noticed and cup your face, whispering to you or more like himself, that you’re fine. Apart of his mind still held onto the delusion that you’re fine, and that it only a matter of time when you start to feel better. You grabbed his hand and squeezed it gently, “Let’s rest together”, you whispered. Kai obeyed and lay next to you and held onto you like your his only piece of sanity left. No one know about you, not even his sister or his team. He rather keep you to himself, it was selfish of him but he didn’t care. He didn’t want to risk your illness getting worse with so many people. He was just fine letting no know of his love. It was for your protection.

The next morning, he was gone already with the ninja and fighting whatever was out there. But you knew Kai would always return to you and kai make its his mission to return to you.

I Could Talk To You All Night

It was nighttime, you were on the roof of your apartment building. Sitting on the edge of the railing with a soda bottle in your hands. Behind you was Kai, still in his ninja suit, holding a bouquet of roses. He had a whole speech in his head about what to say and how to make it happen. But once you turn and face him, he froze on the spot. You took a few steps in front of him and quickly kiss his cheek.

Kai regained his consciousness and gave you the bouquet, along with a hug. Once he let go of you, he look at you with eyes wide open and a love sick smile. “Kai I got the result back from the hospital.” You whisper quietly. “Well what they say?” Kai was more worried than he let on. As you explained your condition on how it new, rare, and no cure was even possible. His heart broke. He saved countless lives, stopped wars from happening, risk his life for everyone else, but why couldn’t the universe let him have you.
