I'm sick so here's my headcanons for the crew when they're sick.

Percy denies it, despite it being obvious. He hates how he is already a little babied by the crew. Heartfelt has to sternly tell him to rest as Percy will only listen to him

Janice, on the other hand, will be very vocal. For example, if she's sick but has chores she'll be like, "Can you please do it? I'm sick :(" and use it like a get out of jail free card in monopoly.

Milo will sleep, that's it

Calvery will keep going like usual, he'd have to be killed or locked up to actually stop.

Poppy will try to nurse himself only to say "fuck it" and sleep it off

Heartfelt will nurse himself and quarantine, being the only doctor on the ship. He has to nurse everyone else when he's not though.

Salty JoJo does not get sick and if he does, it's a cold at most.

Sariah tries a combination of natural remedies and actual medicine. If it's something like a stomach ache or sore throat, she'll use natural stuff, if it's the flu or something like it, she'll go to Heartfelt

OM Brother’s Reactions to a Sick MC

Lucifer

Lucifer would be concerned but not overly so until their symptoms worsened and they had a high fever.

Would have MC moved into his bedroom. Having six seven brothers constantly hovering over them is detrimental to their recovery, so clearly he needs to keep them there so he can monitor his brothers’ time with them accordingly.

His bed is more comfortable anyway.

Ever the gentleman, he sleeps in a cot in his office to give them space.

Or just falls asleep in a chair in the room, so he can keep an eye on them.

Will absolutely start bothering Simeon and Luke to use their celestial powers to help aid their healing along.

Will die before he admits he suddenly longed for his own celestial powers back to help MC.

Mammon

Is one of the overbearing brothers Lucifer runs interference on.

Extremely worried and constantly sneaking in to check on MC, only able to really offer his company and a neck rub (if they ask him nicely).

Would attempt to buy charms or potions from the witches, but in an odd show of kindness they give him special tea and honey to help the symptoms.

Mammon is actually a nice constant presence once he calms down and is an excellent snuggle buddy.

Will talk about anything and nothing to help MC feel less isolated or lonely while sick, telling them how they “better get well soon” and how everyone misses them. Even the GREAT Mammon.

Leviathan

Provides MC with lots of DVDs and animes to keep them occupied between naps.

Even lends his handheld game consoles and his prized Ruri-chan plushies to keep them company.

Like Mammon, is a comforting presence once he can relax and stop worrying. 

Knows some great pressure points for the hands, neck and back because of his own gaming habits. Gotta prevent carpal tunnel!

Satan

Brings LOTS of books

Quietly will read them to MC and brew them more of the witches tea and even bring his own recipes of magical potions.

Spicy red brews for for sinuses, cool minty ones for stomach aches… he even will take a trip to the human world to bring them pharmacy medicine and food they are used to having when sick at home to pass on to Beel to cook for her.

Will gently stroke their hair when he thinks they have fallen asleep.

Asmodeus

Is prepared with oatmeal baths for any hives, eucalyptus oil for congestion or anything else MC needs while sick! 

He even mostly behaves himself and won’t peak.

Brushes their hair, brings them fresh clean pajamas and silk sheets. 

One doesn’t have to give up luxury just because one is sick and stuck in Lucifer’s room.

Will ask if they need him to “kiss where it hurts”.

Brings them the softest lotion infused tissues they have ever had the pleasure to rub their sore nose with.

Beelzebub

Will make or bring them anything and everything they ask for from teas to soups or crackers or anything they can keep down.

Works with Satan to get human food like clear sodas, ginger sodas and chicken soup and makes sure MC stays hydrated and nourished.

Dips into his own powers to help aid their appetite along if they are feeling particularly nauseated or just not hungry.

Is protective, almost as much as Lucifer, in keeping the more rowdy brothers from disturbing MC during mealtimes.

Belphegor

Works in tandem with Beel, spinning his avatar powers into MC’s soup or warm drinks to help them get rest.

It can be hard to sleep when uncomfortable from sickness, so Belphie is allowed to remain after hours to help as a sleep aid.

Brings all his most favorite, softest pillows and blankets and nests MC into Lucifer’s bed so they are as comfortable as possible.

Is uncharacteristically gentle and sweet, even losing out on his own shut eye to watch over MC and make sure they are resting well.

Julian Getting a Cold

It would be so cute having the apprentice take care of Julian if he ever caught a cold. At first he would be in denial about it.

"I'm a doctor. I don't catch colds. I cure them."

Or

"What if you get sick, MC? You shouldn't be taking care of me. I can handle myself." (Followed by Julian absolutely not being able to handle himself. He's so exhausted.)

Imagine the apprentice taking his temperature, immediately dragging Julian to the bed by his sleeve, and making sure he lays down despite his whining. Julian would be a restless patient, and MC would definitely have to keep constant watch over him to be certain he's not wasting too much energy. Though he clearly knows that a person should rest when they have a cold, he's uncomfortable with submitting himself to someone else's care. MC would shush his protests. They'd venture out to get some of Mazelinka's soup recipes, and Julian would be flushed, partly from embarrassment, partly from fever, as MC wraps him up in the fluffiest blankets they can find. They fluff his pillows, help him change into something comfortable, and bring a glass of cold water to set beside the bed.

The man already has trouble sleeping, and not being able to breathe properly wouldn't help the situation. He'd probably spend most of his sick nights propped up against the apprentice's chest, his fever heating up their skin as they stroke his Auburn curls and press a cool rag to his forehead. He's very bashful about all the tenderness MC shows to him, and he tries not to make any sort of fuss when they ask him if he needs anything. Eventually, he relaxes and starts to enjoy the feeling of being taken care of, and consequently starts to feel better soon.

A few mornings later, MC is up making breakfast for him when they hear muffled sobs coming from the bedroom. They rush up the stairs to find Julian crying on the matress.

"What's wrong, love? Does something hurt?"

He calms down enough to explain that he doesn't feel he deserves all this attention over something as silly as a cold, and he doesn't understand why MC would risk getting sick to take care of him, a doctor, of all people.

MC just presses a few small kisses to his cheeks before wiping his tears away.

"Because I love you, and you would do the same for me. Now please, my love, don't cry. You'll only make your nose stuffy again."

Chosen Children vs. the Common Cold

Every time I come down with something, I get the urge to revisit these sickness headcanons I came up with for the six oldest Chosen Children-- so, in celebration of my recently-acquired sore throat and runny nose(!!), I figured I’d post them. They’re a couple of years old at this point and could probably stand to be updated (and I should really think about adding the 02 kids!), but my head is a bit fuzzy right now and I honestly I think I should just go to bed, so I’ll save that exercise for another day.  

Although he’s self-conscious about spreading germs and staying away from other people, Koushiro tries to let sickness affect his productivity as little as humanly possible. He is judicious about keeping up with his schoolwork, uses the Internet to dial into appointments and meetings, and tries to maintain a virtual connection everywhere he would normally have a physical presence. Even when he’s bedridden, he will be on his laptop working, and will generally insist that he feels fine, to the point where someone (either Tentomon, his parents, or when all else fails, Taichi) has to intervene so that he takes proper care of himself.

Taichi, on the other hand, basically turns into a big baby when he gets sick: he stays in bed, always says he feels completely awful, and constantly demands attention and care (food, pillows fluffed, his favorite movies, etc). Agumon and his mother are pretty much the only ones who accommodate him, although sometimes others will grudgingly fetch him something just so he'll shut up (he goes silent on his own if Hikari offers to do things for him though; he absolutely does not want to expose her to whatever he has). Still, he is the type to leave lots of crumpled-up tissues on the floor and probably doesn’t use a face mask all that often either. While recovering, he will try to use his sickness as an excuse to get out of anything he doesn’t want to do, but then turn around and act 100% better if it turns out it’s something he’s actually interested in.

Sora won't pretend that she isn't sick, but she's also pretty regularly in denial about sickness having an effect on her ability to do things, insisting she can stay out and remain active even when it is apparent to everyone else that she should just go home and rest. The only ones she will generally take advice from are Biyomon, Yamato, Mimi, and Jyou, but it still takes her a lot of convincing. She is very impatient to get back to full health and is quick to go stir-crazy just sitting around recovering. She really appreciates it when people come to visit her while she’s laid up because it breaks up the boredom, even if she doesn't want to burden them with having to take care of her. If others are sick, she tries to check up on them whenever she’s able.

Jyou is, of course, completely paranoid about getting ill, continuously washing his hands during cold and flu season and donning a facemask/quarantining himself in his room at the first hint of a symptom-- but since he’s overly cautious, this results in a great deal of false alarms. As he gets older, he becomes better at self-diagnosing himself, not to mention when he starts working with actual sick people his immune system becomes reasonably robust and, coupled with his extensive precautionary measures, he very rarely catches anything. When he does get sick, he generally feels like death warmed over, but he is still extremely careful not to spread any germs, and insists he doesn’t want visitors under any circumstances. He also does a lot of health policing among the Chosen Children, insisting they all get flu shots and telling them to go home if they are feeling even a little off.

To everyone’s continued amazement, Mimi very rarely (if ever) catches any of the things going around. The fact that her immune system is nearly-impenetrable is even more bizarre considering how much she loves visiting and taking care of her friends when they're sick. On the rare occasion she does catch something, you can barely tell-- she's still her upbeat, chipper self. She really tries her best not to infect other people, but since her symptoms are usually so slight, it seems to happen regardless, and bugs that don’t have much of an effect on her can easily flatten lesser mortals. Because of this, the others are really glad when she’s in New York if there’s something particularly nasty going around, just in case.

Yamato is pretty in-tune with his body and is very aware of what he can and can’t do in various states of sickness. He hates people knowing he’s sick and feels guilty if anyone tries to do anything to help him, so he makes a very concerted effort to keep to himself and recover in near-isolation. Assuming his family and friends are actually able to figure out he’s ill, and they see through his attempts to pretend he’s not home when they come to check up on him, he will generally just grump at them until they leave, although he’s secretly quite grateful for their concern.
