Hey bud! Great quiz, great music taste & love quote. I am at peace with my results but figured this might be helpful feedback if you were interested in fine-tuning. I got Ravenclaw (lmao of course I did I'm giving concrit on an internet quiz) & it's a running gag that despite me HATING gryffindor I totally am one bc I've got a "saving ppl thing" & begrudgingly do gryf shit all the time? So maybe more options 2 catch shit we don't wanna admit abt ourselves?
Hello friend! One I’m absolutely in love with your username, the vibes are impeccable! Secondly, I’m incredibly glad that you enjoyed the quiz, and my music taste and writing hehe. While I am probably not going to fine-tune the quiz much more in the near future, I am probably going to release an updated quiz in the... farther... future hehe that’s uh,,, way more questions. For the real personality type test fanatics haha! So I’m really glad to be getting more feedback, and I am excited to take into account whatever you or someone else might have to let me know! (Side note, of course, this ended up being long and rambly haha more under the cut)
I think the best part of this has been solidifying what I think Gryffindors are like. One of my best friends and another of my favorite people are both Gryffindors, and it was really interesting for me to try and think about the house sort of past the books. Because here’s the thing- I don’t personally think being a Gryff is the equivalent of having a saving people thing. There are two main reasons for this: One, I have a saviors complex and I am not a Gryffindor in any other way, so it would be interesting to have to sort myself into that house because of it. Two, the urge that some folks have to save others around them is not always because of who they want to be or something that they chose, but rather because of elements of their past or their environment that have kind of thrust that upon them. I tried to make all of my house definitions then, centered not intrinsically around what the past has made you, but rather on who you are/who want to be in the future. Because of that, my definition of Gryffindors and Slytherins, in particular, had to be... well let's just say canon gave me a little less to work with c:
Gryffindors, yes, often want to save people and the world. But Gryffindors, like any other person, are not born to take on the burden of some great crusade. Instead, I centered my definition of Gryffindors on the tenants of wanting to help, wanting to do right, seeking the “rest” of validation, and craving certainty. I think because of this, my quiz became less centered on Gryffindor actions someone might take, and more centered on the feelings that people have within themselves, towards themselves and towards the world around them. This could be why you were sorted into Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor! Again, my quiz is not the final say in anyone's house, and whichever house you want to be is the one you are, but I hope this might clarify why my quiz put you in the house that it did c: That said, I am really hopeful that I will be able to add more of those “catching things you don’t want to admit” answers to my next version of this quiz and other quizzes, they’re just quite hard hehe and tragically the single brain cell my fiance and I have joint custody of has been rather occupied by finals, but I am very excited to brainstorm more of these types of questions!
