It had been a while since Jack had been in Tortuga. Not long enough that he'd caught up to Hector and the Pearl, but long enough that he'd made a pass for the Fountain of Youth. The logic at the time had been that, if he'd found the Fountain of Youth and gained immortality, then he'd have an eternity to catch up to Barbossa and take his ship back. But now he pulls into port, still mortal and with less money than when he initially set out. Still, he's far from being deterred. Jack's always been in it for the long game, and his quest for immortality had just started. He makes his way into town with an intent on looking for Gibbs. He's no idea if his First Mate is around or if he had gone off on his own, but pirates are gossipy sorts and he's sure to find the exact whereabouts of him soon enough. At least, that had been his plan, but as he makes his way down to the Faithful Bride, idly glancing into shops as he passes by, he catches sight of someone familiar. It doesn't hit him who it was for a few more steps. He halts in his steps, right in the middle of Tortuga. He pauses, mind catching up to him before be begins to backpedal, literally walking backwards, until he's even with the doorframe of the store he'd past. There she stands, and there's no mistaking it. "Elizabeth." He doesn't think twice before making his way into the store. "I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away long," he grins, giving a gesture to all of Tortuga and everything around them, himself included.
