To what does an old man at an older post owe the pleasure?
Groggily opening her eyes to find Jupiter hovering over her, she frowned and grumbled. "If you've woken me up to tell me that I'm on fire, floating, or have transformed something, I don't want to hear it. Darlin', just..." The thought died on her lips as a better one sprung to mind.
An incomprehensible mumble and Whitney drags him down onto bed, sighing impatiently. The man doesn't really have a say in whether or not he's allowed to be here- because before he can object, the witch curls underneath his arm and burrows into his side.
"C'mere, you handsome pillow."
" Jupiter has died " [ *~mysterious anon~* ]
[ Months had gone by since she’d found him again. ]
In that short span of time since their meeting at the museum, Whitney felt safe for the first time since she’d last seen him. The witch hadn’t remembered a time where she’d been this content with a place, all because of one planet. Rather than running, Jupiter had made her stop, taken her into his arms, and just held them there. It made her take a breath she hadn’t know she’d been holding.
In his arms, she trusted him enough to stop and breathe.
She’d fallen for this prince, knowing that there was no possible chance that he’d ever love her back. But it hadn’t stopped her from secretly hoping for that chance.
And if it was the look in his eyes that broke her heart, his smile quickly mended it. His words made her feel at home- as if she had a home. It was something to come back to.
But that little world she’d built up couldn’t possibly shatter as her family’s had. The emptiness of those three little words made her feel so incredibly hollow. Once it hit her, Whitney shook her head furiously and silently begged for the tears no to fall.
It was time to hold her breath again.
He wasn’t dead. A planet can never die. Right?
“You’re lying.” Jupiter was probably at home or off comforting people being the wonderful soul he was. “He wouldn’t. He couldn’t.” Yet, the words slowly sunk in and made the tears apparent in her eyes stream down her cheeks. “Why? Jupiter would never- he shouldn’t be dead.”
“I can.. I can fix this. It’ll-” A hiccup, and she’s desperately wiping the tears away to get some notion of control. The tears won’t stop falling, though. “It’ll just take magic, right? I need to find him. Maybe I can do something. I’m not just going t- to sit idly by.”
”I can’t.” Not again.
