Sturnus biology Ref
This can / will can be expanded on as time goes on/ as the story progresses
Elastic skin and bones
Bones are similar to bendy pencils
The skull is segmented with tendons keeping it together to allow the Sturnus to move and stretch further
They don't have lungs, truly
breathe similarly to salamanders, though they do have small air sacs if needed
They don't have a binary for gender
One sturnus can have both reproductive functions
Very similar to an owl, their eyes are immovable
Their eyes are very unique; their depth hides their pupil from view and obstructs the visibility of their natural eye color
They have large eyes and are made of mostly fluids, and too low frequencies and or sounds could rupture their eyes, causing them to make their language more high-pitched/frequented
the eyes and mouth, and very close to one another, having only a thin yet firm plate of muscle separating the two
Their language has casual and formal forms
D, J, L, O, T, and Y are false letters which are only used in casual texts/letters
They don't make fake letters; just did that to make the fake letters illustrated
Teeth are similar to a very thick, hard silicone
teeth replace themselves regularly as their skin shifts inwards towards their mouths, similar to how tectonic plates act
Once the skin is in place in their mouth, it hardens and dries, becoming brighter in appearance and getting a bit of a rougher texture so the sturnus can eat without food slipping about
Many sturnus are unaware of human existence
It's classified as a doomed planet since it was first discovered by the aliens via telescope, leading them to see more into the past
They saw the planet when lots of natural disasters were happening (Hadean Eon)
The aliens are in an older tech age, having more 2000 era-type of things and ascetic
Antennas are very sensitive and are particularly what they smell through
Have very small pores and slick skin, kinda damp but not overly slimy or greasy, but cold and slick in a near soft way
have unique patterns on their skin/ body
Blood looks like molten copper or smooth liquid lava
Blood has similar compounds to stars and is extremely hot; it's the only way they can stay warm in the cold space around them
Blood is also very rich in minerals, which is very valuable to some humans
blood flows throughout their entire body
If you were to slice their arm off, you'd either be blinded or just see their yellow flesh
The blood type affects the color, which can affect their flesh color
Because their home is near a lot of stars and suns, some believe the stars are gods, and some more violent religions cut themselves to prove/ show superiority over others through flesh color
Some skin mutations leave some sturnus with a similar color to their flesh
Some who have that mutation go to some of the other religious groups to become their god/messenger
Other religions worship the large fruit-bearing trees since they help/benefit the sturnus a lot
Their home planet isn't too big, but there are many planets similar to it that are close by
It is common to get lost in space, to how far out some of the other planets are
Their home planets don't really have much resources, mostly just trees, some deep ponds
The ponds are relatively small in diameter, but are very, very deep, most going to the center of the planet
If you removed the ground of their planet, the pond system would look as if you stuck lots of pencils into a foam ball
Many pond creatures live in this system, and some creatures resemble fish or even crabs
Vegetation like seagrass or bushes, some even fruit-bearing, lines the walls in the pond system
Other types of trees are seen as useless since they don't bear fruit, though if hurt, they regrow, leading most of these trees to be used for their wood
Their home planet is mostly purple and white, though there are plenty of muted/pastel colors that the sturnus have artificially made to help decorate their home
Some plants have started to mimic the colors, leaving some highlights or spots of color
The sturnus uses fruits and meats in plenty of foods and treats
Many sturnus keep some of the fruit/ seeds on them since the seeds can be planted and grow fast
Sometimes the seeds fall and plant themselves elsewhere

Summary :
Zooms negligence to repair their shuttle leads them to crashing into earth, bringing them to need to learn the language and go on the run with the human that saved them.

Our Neolithic ancestors knew, even if they couldn't explain why, the sun's relationship to the earth affected their lives. They studied the movements of the sun, the Moon and the planets to try and understand why there was a season of long warm days and a season of short, cold days and between these two days when day and night were of equal length. From their observations came four festivals to mark the year. These four markers were anticipated, recorded and celebrated. In fact they became important religious occasions when the gods were praised and prayed to. With the coming of Christianity the Summer Solstice became St. John's Eve.. Also known as Bonfire Night, Time Féile Eoin, Óiche an Tine Cháimh it is still celebrated in some parts of Ireland. I was talking to my brother about his dragonborn the other night and he said he didn't have a tail because of 'tail damage'. My only exposure to DnD is about 11 episodes of Critical Role, so if it's not referring to this sort of scenario I will be Very Disappointed
