Thelma Todd was a world-famous actress in the 1920s and 1930s, starring in silent films such as “Monkey Business” among other successful comedies. In addition to her day-time job, Todd owned a restaurant along the Pacific Coast Highway, which overlooked the ocean. It is said that famous folks frequented Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk Cafe, including celebrities, politicians, and gangsters.
