Glenn Gould conducts Richard Wagner's Siegfried Idyll.

The work was composed as a birthday present to his second wife, Cosima, who was also the daughter of Franz Liszt and Marie d'Agoult.

The personal ad showcased with the music was actually found among Glenn Gould's personal papers following his death; provides an interesting visual juxtaposition with the piece. Text below:

"Wanted.

Friendly, companionably reclusive, socially unacceptable, alcoholically abstemious, tirelessly talkative, zealously unzealous, spiritually intense, minimally turquoise, maximally ecstatic loon seeks moth or moths with similar equalities for purposes of telephonic seduction, Tristan-eque trip-taking ... tristan, tristan-eque trip-taking, and permanent flame-fluttering.
