#rotd - Sowilo/Sigel - what must you sacrifice for completion? <3{
Sigel, Illinois (Amtrak)
The next train to come by this same location (Sigel, Illinois, see previous post) was Amtrak’s Shawnee. This train ran between Chicago and Carbondale, Illinois.
The speed limit here at that time was 90 miles-per-hour given the cab signals of the Illinois Central. The train is being powered by the short-lived GE P30CH.

Happy Father’s Day! Sorry these are so late - been busy but got them done! Got our three main families having some quality time for Father’s Day! Might do these up for Patreon wallpapers, so maybe wander on over and take a looksee! Got stuff for the actual comic real soon, but I have been dropping some more fun concept art and behind the scenes stuff that I’d think you’d all enjoy! Every little bit helps, so please consider supporting the comic via Patreon!

Rune a Day Project - Day 12 - November 12, 2021 - Sowilo
Day 12 of my rune a day project. Half way through the Elder Futhark.
Today I drew Sowilo, meaning "sun". It represents energy, sun, willpower, integrity, vitality, leadership, courage, assertiveness, awareness, guidance on travels, strengthening of the self, the will to act, burning, shedding light on a situation, clarification, light, success, victory, the light of day, mastery, wholeness.
Note: you see this one in different rune sets represented a variety of different ways: ᛊ ᛋ ᛌ
I admit, as I've been doing this project, I was sort of surprised to find that I've been feeling more connected to Freyr as a side-effect. However, in the wee hours this morning, I woke up thinking of Odin, and how he's known to "hunger" for knowledge, and that I am experiencing the same thing.
This project has led me to academic works, pop interpretations, occulism, videos galore, questions asked and needing to be answered... the more I learn, the more there is to know.
I've always known this was a thing (the more you learn the more you realize how much more there is to learn), but the project has connected me to Odin's quest for understanding and knowledge in a way I haven't felt before. It's the first time I can say I can absolutely relate to an aspect of Odin.
Sowilō, Sigel, Sol. ᛊ ᛋ ᛌ The universe is electric in nature.
The size chart for all the aspects! In order: Firth, Hurst, Gelid, Sigel, Brume, Petrichor, Derecho, Mona, Aileron, and Calcine. Calcine is about the size of your average cat, for reference.
