Siglakas is one of the best event in STI, I am not player but I am solid supporters of abm who represent our strand, I am the one who taken the videos, who scream on court when our strand got point especially in basketball and one of the player in basketball is very special to me and I always cheer him.

As a supporter I still enjoyed four days in watching I really have fun. Enjoyed cheering for our department or strand. Also this event is very memorable for me, it is also a great way to meet new people, I met a lot of people and making a new friend with them, cheering together with them because we are same department.

Our team is overall champion bmat/abm even I am not player but my heart is so happy for them, for our strand because they fight not just for them also to represent our strand. The other strand is also good, they are strong to face with it. Siglakas is not only activities but also teach us to connect with them.

And to those player in siglakas you guys are amazing to show your different talent in athlete.

SIGLAKAS 2019

Just like other schools, STI College Sta. Rosa organizes activities such as sportsfest. In our school, we call it “SIGLAKAS” that is held every month of December most specifically, a week before the Christmas break. Each strand has names to represent them namely Ranging Wolves for ABM, Titans for web, Dragons for STEM and CATOGAS for Culinary Arts, Tourism Operation and GAS. It is one of the most awaited activities of the students every year because everyone is able to exhibit their talent and passion for sports, even teachers.

The first day of SIGLAKAS was held last December 17, 2019. We started the event with a parade and torch lighting of the most valuable player for 2018’s SIGLAKAS which is Renato Mercado or also known as Ramjhay Mercado, a player from the business department. Games began to start and ABM strand took the lead of winning most of the games scheduled for the day. The crowd favorite is the basketball game of both senior high school students and college department. Students would scream their hearts out as they show their support for their schoolmates. Officers like us are one who is in-charge of the schedule, food for the players and whatever they may need.

For the second day, I am one of the players for the chess game scheduled on that day. I was really anxious about it because I only “know” how but I am not good at it. What kept me going is that I am with my best friend all throughout the game. It was fun because with all the errors I committed, I still won against my opponent which is from other strands. Again, it is one for the books. It is memorable for me because I tried something new and regardless of winning the game, I gained a new experience. On the third and fourth day there were only elimination and championship games for the winning teams.

It was a 4-day sportsfest filled with a lot of emotions but I know one thing for sure, everyone had fun and was able to showcase their skills. Also, my best friends won from their games and we all have medals. It was a very memorable event for me because even if it is tiring, I enjoyed my duty as an officer, was able to spend time with my friends and discover something about myself.

Siglakas

In our school we have an event or sportfest that we caled siglakas. This is the event that every students are waiting for. This event is containing different sports like basketball,volleyball, badminton,table tennis and board games. Every strand has a player of that kind of sports.

We have a parade in starting the first day if our siglakas. We all see the happiness that the stier have during that day. Every strand also have a representative for muse and our strand won. When the they pass by there are different sports that we watched and cheer. We are cheering our player to give them strength in playing. We also have a guest, Nico Elorde. He gave a speech to inspire the students of sti college. We also have awards that gave the players that won in the game. And I am proud that the Accountancy and Business Management is the overall champion.

This event gives the student in resting to their academics and have an entertainment. This will help us to give our best in our studies.

Siglakas 2019: Annual Sports Fest

Every school celebrates its Sports Day that every student is longingly looking forward to. It is where they could showcase their incredible talent on a specific sport that they are playing and together with these unique talents is to, of course, find out who will come out on top. My school STI Colleges Santa Rosa also has its sports day also known as "Siglakas" an event that happens every year in the month of December right before the Christmas break. The entire event was part of the school's annual student activities which promotes body wellness and camaraderie among students, staff and faculty members through the various sports and activities scheduled for the entire week.

The College and Senior High department are both separated to show fairness and, of course, to be a memorable experience on both sides. Different strands together with their advisers were grouped into 4 groups identified by their team names: Raging Wolves for ABM, Titans for WEB, Dragons for STEM, and CaToGas for CA, TO, and GAS. Culinary arts, Tourism Operations, and General Academic strands were grouped to compensate for their low number of participating students in every strand. Every team competed in different indoor and outdoor sports like Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Chess.

Cheering activities were also conducted which featured selected students in every strand to hype up the audience and to cheer their team. The cheering competition hailed the ABM Raging wolves as champions. Pageants were also conducted which involves the most beautiful and smart woman of every participating team that battled for who will be hailed as Mr. and Ms. Siglakas 2019. Again, ABM Raging Wolves came out on the top and was hailed as Ms. Siglakas 2019 represented by ms. Diane Borja.

One by one the events take place in a very well disciplined manner and by the awarding ceremony on the last day of Siglakas the winners are finally listed and made to stand on the Victory Stand and cheered by one and all. ABM Raging Wolves emerged Over-all Champion for winning several sports such as Table Tennis girls, badminton, and chess. Followed by the Titans from WEB as first runner up for their winning basketball boys.

The event was marked as a memorable day for every student in STI, especially those participating students that were full of smiles and delight in their faces for their hard work and determination that eventually paid off. An ultimate moment of pleasure for winners when, amidst loud clapping and shouting of cheers, they gey their rewards for their good work from our beloved principal Mrs. Malone Oning. It is satisfying to see students participating with their hearts and souls with complete involvement in the games. Their victories boost up their morale, not just a team but as an individual as well.
